This is getting out of hand, I’ve been waiting for 992 GTS and I just configured one, $164,700? Are you kidding me? Rather spend $10k more and get a damn .2 GT3. Prices can’t keep going up like this, we starting to head into stupid pricing. My 718 GT4 was $120k, absolutely astonishing car, so why would I want to spend $47,700 more? GT4 I think are highly underrated.
Awesome! And btw, it seems that I deduced @BIGWORM 's intentions wrongly, apologies for that. I noticed now that he also already has the SD bumper and is likely looking into doing the same as you. According to my understanding, one can order the SD lip as a spare part either primed or in matte black. They are the same part per dimensions but if you want the GTS look, obviously order the part that comes in matte black as the primed is meant to be painted and comes in gray or something like that. The SD lip also has a black (kind of rubbery) protective part under it that needs to be ordered separately or reused from the old lip.

Got it! I plan to reuse that additional part since my car will be brand new when I switch the lips around. Is there a difference between the part numbers for primer versus matte black?
Exactly. GTS model has SportDesign bumper (similar to the white one in the picture, although not GTS) with matte black lip and that is exactly the same lip as the fully colored SportDesign bumper has (but painted). But it's not the same as the matte black lip in the SPASM (regular) bumper. I guess, based on the above conversation, @BIGWORM (and you too?) would have wanted to put the matte black lip from the GTS's front (aka SportDesign) bumper on to his regular bumper, if I understood correctly. Or maybe you wanted to have your upcoming SportDesign colored lip changed into matte black? In case the latter, it's still the the same lip (as in the fully colored SportDesign bumper) and you can just order it unpainted as it comes like that as a replacement part.
Yup. I have the SD bumper. And I wanted to try the GTS lip. I thought the GTS lip protruded outward more than the color matched SD lip my car came with.
But if the GTS is just my current lip juT matte black. Then no, I don’t want that.
I was in it for a slightly more aggressive looking lip.
Wondering if 4 wheel steering is advisable on the GTS?
I need some experienced opinions.
thanks
I would say that the RWS adds more to the car than AWD. I've had both a base 992 and an S where the base doesnt have it and the S did and the S, even with a ton more power, felt very planted, only on wet surfaces did I kick the rear end out. I have not had PDCC but I think PDCC, RWS and a manual are all musts...along with the extended range tank, which I have on my base. It's nice to fill your car up and have over 500 miles of range!
The write up seems a bit ambiguous on the lightweight option. One way of interpreting it has rear steering delete (that alone would get me to go for that package).
If that lightweight glass is not sound insulated, then forget it, the stupid whistle these cars have at 40 plus MPH doesn't need less sound deadening. That whistle is awful!!
Currently working on GTS spec, what’s the option on the configurator to get these parts painted in the exterior colour, the configurator shows them black, but if spec’ing a C2s they do change colour. Maybe it’s a glitch on the configurator? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure its just the SD lip with a matte black color, instead of the SD gloss black where it is the same lip but glossy.
I seriously think the only reason to get the GTS is for the additional power, upgraded breaks and if you like the Porsche styling of their GTS cars, which I do. However, I bet most people would find the base has more than enough capability, its much better than the 991.2 base. Otherwise, you are better off with the S 4S, the car is seriously fast/quick/whatever and I cant imagine what the extra HP on the GTS will be like. And, I have driven a 991.2 GTS manual a bit, so I know what that was like (like a 992 S)
It's incredible (the G63) but at the end of the day it's a rocket propelled 3 ton tank - aside from the 5mpg it just didn't feel right for me. I'm single and found it over kill.
Glad i scratched that itch but ready to get back into a 992. Figured i already had the cab so wanted to try something new. I know there is a weight issue but I'm sure the extra BHP from the GTS will more than compensate for that (I hope)
I LOVE that they removed that painted gloss rear lower bumper color and replaced with all black. Looks way better IMO. Here is the promo video, you can see the Symmetry without the Sport Package Rear Bumper Painted piece..
Yesterday I put a deposit down on a GTS 2WD... I skipped the PDCC and Power Steering due to 50/50 mixed reviews and felt I don't want them... BUT the Rear Axle Steering for the 992 GTS.. I'm torn.
@kidniki - After reading that post 2-3 times, I think it suggests lightweight parts and then talks positively about the RWS and aerodynamic undercarriage as if.... We took weight off and added better handling(RWS) and aero under the car.
DAMN PORSCHE.. these Marketing guys are Genius. Can't break the code. Also, did you see the option for the rear lights side markers... with no pics.

I loved my 991.2 S! But replaced it with a 991.2 GTS because I HAD to have a GTS. And I regretted it. The added power was all in the top end. Which I didnt spend much time in going 0- speed limits in suburbia. So it honestly didnt feel as snappy as my 991.2S for street driving. YES it was faster overall. But it didnt feel faster down low. The bigger turbos also didn't make spooling sounds as much as my S versions did (which makes sense because they are bigger turbos). And the center locks which I HAD to have where a nightmare. Wheels were 10-12K, options where limited. Mine had alcantera and that got old REAL quick as a daily driver. I will never get a GTS again. And with pricing as high as it is now, Id rather save up for a Turbo with 5 lugs. To me the 992 GTS doesnt make sense in its price point.
