992 GTS Discussion

Best looking one so far. I'm not sure what it is, but I'm not feeling the 992 GTS aesthetically speaking. Too much black, the 991.2 had a better balance. For once, I'm not digging the centerlock wheels. These 992 GTS configurations give the car a cheap-o 30k-50k vibe. I'm sensing Nissan/350z/370z.

@Spartan King @jzra I just double checked on the C4S configuration tool and the "illuminated lateral gills" are a standard part of the Exclusive Design Taillight option for non-GTS cars.

Extended range tank sounds good, but AFAIK it is unavailable on the AWD models that I would consider (don't bother trying to talk me out of that).

The GTS is what you get if you want the better breaks, the short throw shifter, the carbon seats, the different headlights and the additional power from the motor, it is going to be over 500 unofficially. If you don't need or want any of those things or don't like the option combos then you should go with an S/4S Targa as you seem to have more options avaible, like the extended range gas tank. If you get any 911 without the extended range tank you will regret it, driving a 992 uses a lot of gas, quickly. So, with that in mind, to me the only GTS option is the C2GTS... Its the only model that has all the performance options available on it, if you aren't buying it for those, don't get a GTS.
Also, I strongly agree about the fuel tank size. Strongly, strongly agree.

I'm going to disagree on them all looking the same. To a casual viewer, absolutely, but to those of us obsessing over each option selected to make a cohesive configuration little things like badging and trim color matter. We all want to make these cars truly "ours".

I'm with you, but I'm saying aesthetically speaking. Everything else is great. The car just looks cheap and ricey. Of course I'd rather drive a C2 GTS over any other variant sans GT3/Turbo. It's not sitting right with me though. Maybe the configurator doesn't do it justice but there's just far too much black plastic and those wheels look like sunken battleships. Perhaps it'll be a different story in person.

I was joking on looking the same. I would ask if you plan on driving it in the snow, is that why you are set on AWD? The current car doesn't need it. Let me put it this way, I had a 992 C2S with RWS and a 718 GTS at the same time and I could "Drive" the 992 faster than the 718 GTS in the same situations, the current car is that good. I think if you have not had a chance to drive a 992 C2S and C4S, I would do that before ordering. I was worried about it too because I like to take my at the time 2 year old son with me and was concerned about having a safer drive. I never once felt like I was going to not be in total control of the car.

Besides snow, IMO the RWD 911 has more than sufficient traction. Enough to completely negate the AWD system. If you don't drive in snow or live in a hot climate, I'd trade off AWD for the more athletic RWD and snappier front axle.

Everything I've seen says that with the correct winter tires a RWD 911 will fair quite well in snow, so long as it is not very deep. Would I drive a C2S to a ski resort, probably not, but I plan to drive my C2S with winters in Denver during the relevant months.

Have never ued winter tires on my 911 or my Cayman.....the Taycan has all weather and I did take it out in not deep snow. You can raise the Taycan up a little but nothing crazy and you cant drive fast with it raised, at least I dont think you can.

0-60 times:
GTS Manual - 3.9
GTS PDK - 3.2
C2S Manual - 4.0
C2S PDK - 3.5
C2S PDK (Sport Chrono) - 3.3
If you click under "Technical Specs" for each model, the performance tab lists all the 0-60 times for each configuration. All in all the 30+ HP and TQ gives you a tenth.
