Is anyone tuning the 992 yet?

I have yet to get my car on a dyno machine. This is what the graph looks like for McChip: Stage 1 tune on a Carrera C2S (RON98). I can personally say it has made a very noticeable difference. In normal mode, the car drives and pulls effortlessly. Sports mode is a beast! Yet to try sports plus and launch control.

It depends on which time zone you are in. They can only tune during MccChip's office hours in Germany. With that, probably a couple of hours. Stage 1: 510ps/625Nm on the website is a conservative estimate to compensate for lower RON figures and also the difference in climate.

I had a Cobb tune on my 997 TT, and another name brand on my BMW n54 (maybe Dinan) and both were great. I would be reluctant with smaller ones that didn’t include dyno sheets.
I am very cautious on aftermarket tunes as I have never had a successful one.
My first Turbocharged car the "Tuner" overboosted the turbo car and it ran super - really fast, really fun, and then head gasket blew and manifold cracked. That was an expensive repair I had to do out-of-pocket as the "Tuner" claimed it was not his fault. I went back to stock on the car.
The second one was a BMW M3 that was chipped. I did data runs on the car before and after, and even with their high flow air filter / cold air intake, the chip and open exhaust the car slowed in straight line acceleration, but made great noises. I had proof of it, too, through data logs. Finally the "Tuner" offered to pay me off if I would stop comments on his products on the BMW forums. They are no longer in business.
This is not to say what you are getting is not a good product, its simply that I have had 100% failure with aftermarket engine mods (and I friend of mine hydrolocked his engine on his car after getting a "high flow" air filter, resulting in a new engine in his car that was out of pocket for him). There is some risk in doing these sorts of things, just be sure you can accept that risk and know that many of these things will void aspects of your warranty. Speaking for myself, I would never buy a "Tuned" car that was for sale, and if I find my current ride is not fast enough - I will sell it and get the faster model the manufacturer offers.

It's the OBD security. It hasn't been cracked yet. With each generation of cars it's been more and more difficult to tune through the OBD port. I saw it with Audi. Over the past few generations of cars it's taken significantly more time to be able to tune without pulling the ECU. It's just par for the course - hopefully they'll get it cracked.

Just tuned my C4S with GIAC's Stage 1 programming. The power is quite impressive for 91 octane fuel. Per GIAC, they can port flash, but are working on the securities to allow their dealers to port flash.
I will post up acceleration data (1/4 mile and 0-60) in my project thread.
