I feel so naked when seeing a 992 T without the side decals… am I the only one?

@arrivederci great photoshoot man! Thanks for all those pictures. Can’t wait for your review.

Great build! I just miss the red tacho and chrono. Just please do not ditch the Porsche crest as someone suggested.

Got some more pictures from your sub (the woofer, not your watch)? I remember only one from close up. Would appreciate that.

Thanks for your long story. But why not Gentian blue with yellow stitching? By far one of the top Porsche combos on the market. That would be a killer spec.

thanks for your help.
When I was designing mine I wanted to have full leather and the glass sunroof because I really enjoy the light that comes in through the roof and love the wind in my face experience with the sunroof open. that being said if you don't like a sunroof I would totally get the carbon fiber roof I think it really adds to the uniqueness of the T for being a non GTS, GT3. Love the race tex steering wheel and center console to tie that in with each other. I think that you might enjoy at the very least the red center tach. I did both the tach and clock but for some that is a little too much splash of color. I would consider the full leather with deviated stitching in red. There are a few people on here that have decided that and I really think it looks amazing on red. Lastly, have you ever thought about Carmine Red? The reason why I mention that is that it is closer to Polo Red which is a little darker red and doesn't have orange in it like Guards Red. If you spec Carmine you may have one of the rarest optioned colors and would give you the red look. I have had guards red Porsches for years and it is a great color thats for sure. I like the simple spec and I think goes well with the T.

I know that a number of Cayenne Trubo GT owners were complaining about delamination of the CF... but I don't believe that the 911 specific CF roof has had issue with this. I plan to have my car fully PPF'd as soon as it gets off the boat from Germany, and as long as you care for it properly, it shouldn't be an issue.
It really does look beautiful in person, and even though its only a 30%/5lb weight reduction, I think its cool to know you made your T even just a little bit lighter/better in that sense.

There’s quite a decent PG set amongst rennlist T owners.

@Macboy Some initial first day thoughts with ~200 miles...mostly comparing to my F80 M3 since it is the other modern performance car I have, has a manual trans, rear drive, 3.0L 6-cyl twin turbo motor, etc. I drove a little highway, mostly twisty mountain roads, and even some daily duty errand running.

Things I love:
* Shifter is awesome. Short throw and mechanical feel is a delight. I always liked the M3 shifter but carrera T 7-speed might have changed my perspective. It feels short and direct much like an old Miata.
* Steering feel is excellent with very sharp turn in and instant change of direction. The M3 is sluggish by comparison.
* I like the engine sound a lot. The bark on auto-blip downshifts is great. Auto-blip is overridden if I try to heel-toe and it doesn't feel like I can actually get the motor to respond as fast as the auto-blip can. Power and sound below 4000 rpm is very good.
* Brakes are excellent as expected from Porsche. I bet I can make these work just fine at a track day but we will have to see!
* It took me a little while to get to what I think is a good seat position. I needed to drop the back of the seat to make it more like a bucket. I have the 18-ways so there should be no issue here.
* I used the cupholder with a small water bottle and shifting is do-able. I wouldn't want a big cup with a straw there.
* The PCM system is responsive and I like the big screen. I did have one instance where I stopped to take a photo and it didn't reconnect to my profile - threw me into guest mode. Weird...will continue to look for that. I still have to get familiar with the PCM functions and carplay. I customized the left side shortcuts as others have. I think I have carplay, A/C, and one other thing. I got rid of music and nav for sure.
* The build quality is a few steps up from my M3. It rides better. Everything feels more refined. That's what I expected with Porsche and 2x the cost.
* The clear side marker install was nice and easy.
* GT3 side skirts are going on today. But I'm not sure I can get this car on my 2-post lift. It is just a hair too low for my lift to clear with the pads I use. I might have to make some thinner jacking pads although I don't anticipate I'll have this car on the lift too much. I don't plan to put winter tires on.

Other observations:
* On my car there is definitely lag. I don't know how people can claim these cars have none because I feel it. Maybe a bit more than on my M3. Manageable for sure as I have an old audi that has massive lag (which is actually lots of fun). Maybe it is the altitude in play or things will loosen up over time?
* Visibility forward is great, rearward is not so great with the big hips, etc. The back window just seems small. Older 911s have much better rear vis. Even with the surround view, maneuvering/reversing in tight parking lots isn't easy. My guess is this will get easier over time.
* The buffeting with both windows open has to be fixed. Hello AWE tuning.
* The radio has no bass. My wife is usually pretty good at tuning things but the controls (treble and bass EQ, fader) are limiting. It gets plenty LOUD and with songs that have no bass can sound good. But when a song needs the whole dynamic range, this won't do. I'm looking at a similar path to @ECNJ .
* From someone who has driven lots of older 911s, all I can say is it feels like a 911, but is very very refined (which I love).
* My original plan was to keep my M3 but I'm debating what I would give up by selling it and what I'd have to do with the 911 to fill those gaps. For my purposes there is a lot of overlap between the two. As it now stands, the 911 is objectively better but the M3 is more playful (struggling still to find the right word but playful is where I landed for now). The M3 exhaust is louder (both systems are valved although BMW is wide open when on). It eggs me on to do stupid/fun things and it can punch the tail out in 1st or 2nd gear at any time with ease. The M3 is more of a muscly brute force instrument whereas the 911 is precise. They are probably similarly matched speed wise. Possibly once I finish break in miles and get more comfortable with the 911 this will change. But I can understand how/why some might want more control over the valved exhaust and/or change it out entirely, or throw a tune on it.

More to come as the days/weeks progress. I love this car! ...and the mandatory pic. Garage cleanup is in order since the 992 took over the spot from my wife's E450 benz.

Nice review. My initial comments to your initial comments:

- Brakes = great
- Steering = excellent (until you drive a GT3, then everything else sucks!)
- Shifter is fine, but it ain't no Miata. My 718 CGTS4.0 6 speed is way better, as is 6spd from GT3.
- Lag is very minimal, but not like my old Volvo V70 T5. Talk about lag and torque steer!
- Rearward visibility: try it with a giant wing! lol
- Refinement: yup, it better feel refined for this money!
- Exhaust: not loud enough. Not bad with Cargraphic EV controller, but again, it needs to be uncorked. Turbo whine is a plus though.
- Cupholder: buy this aftermarket one https://www.ultimatecupholders.com/

ENJOY!!! I just got back from a quick drive after not driving it all week. I missed it!

two things - I need that cup holder , think we all do and how did you manage not to drive all week ? I legit started being more helpful around the house and have offered to do more errands just as an excuse to drive it . Yes I could take the defender but…..Porsche . I was trying to justify taking it today as we have a big drive out to baiting hollow but I really don’t feel like squeezing the car seat in

Oh believe me, when I first got it I drove it every dry day. In fact, I started driving in lieu of working out in the early morning before work lol. I tried to break-in the car in as quickly as possible. I now have almost 1500 miles on it and have already changed the oil.

Ha, day to day I typically drink $10 bottle wines. But I love beer more. Wine doesn’t have to be expensive to be good. I have a lot of expensive wines (ha, I’m too cheap to buy) that were gifted to me over the years for closing on mega deals globally. I open them with family & friends on special occasions only. I’ve had that one for a long time

Ha, u feel naked Or the T looks naked?

View from inside - flush with rear seat by design

View shot from open moonroof.

View from outside - unfortunately a lot of reflection/glare

EDITED: Someone asked for a pic of sub right out of the box. I only took pic of 12” box at shop while deciding on the 10”. Both rated 400 watts RMS. But 10” box is 2” lower height so flush with T back seat.

If anyone is seriously considering getting JL also (received numerous PMs saying so), u may want to view this video too.

1 - During my 20’s I had girlfriends that owned MX5, MR2, CRX Si, GTI, M3, RX-7. Yeah used to change girlfriends a lot then. Friends would say, Man U go thru GFs like shoes. All iconic and had great shifters. I love the T gearbox. It’s buttery smooth. After a month now, never Mis-shifted or stalled once. The easiest manual I’ve driven in my life….by far!

2- If u think audio is loud enough, u may be content with just adding the sub. I used to DJ at a club so I need more from the 8 stock speakers!

3- Yes, so refined I love it. But love it’s raw character/qualities also. Can’t wait to get my bro’s impression of the T when he drives it someday. He recently drove the C8 and told me he was extremely disappointed, especially the build quality (as much as loves GM, ha)…
