So I believe Ferrari came out at $71 or so and by the time I got my finger out and ignored the professional advice (remember the Ark and the Titanic?), it had climbed to $82 and change. So I bought and sold at $200.89 in November 2020. Found a dealer 3+k miles from where I live (I don't bother with the local dealer - one fiasco was enough for a lifetime) and reinvested the principal as the TOWMBO'd mandated.
At $313 and change you'd have to have a lot of capital but IMHO (meaning I don't know squat about the market other than common sense dictates you don't invest in something you don't understand) I think it's overvalued as it is. But the PLUS factor of owning an even infinitesimal part of Ferrari makes it attractive to where it's anyone's guess where it could end up.
So you should always follow your instinct and trust others who stand to loose more than you with their advice.

@siberian I second that, I would leave investing to the pros, the pros who do it for a living, those who have done it for decades and, make a whole lot of money and help others do the same.

It took someone I know 3 years to get an allocation for a GT3 back in 2000s (got his gt3 at the end of the model year 2004)

In the year since the deposit, I have purchased two 991.2 T's from Porsche dealers, the first traded in on the second. I'm very much enjoying my current car and to be honest the price increase(s?) along with yet another additional and unavoidable "luxury tax" on NEW cars has made the cost to get into a brand new 911 significantly higher than this same period last year.
When there are 17 cars of one specific sub model available for sale in one market and prospective buyers can't even get an allocation in another, I'd say there was something wrong.

To be fair, I was told the wait would be 18-24 months to physically have a car in my possession when I placed a deposit for a 992 GTS on or about June 1st, 2022. I then changed the order to a 992 T in late November and was told this would not slow the process, it could actually speed it up a bit. No calls from the dealer yet.

I completely agree with you on that, there is something wrong with the way 911 allocations have been distributed, I think if you have been on the wait list since November of last year, they definitely should have prioritized you over other potential customers, I agree with you on that, especially since its, not a GT3 or RS or anniversary model, but one of the variations on the Carrera, but if you saw my previous post, less than 2 allocations per variation are probably in the US each quarter for most dealerships and as you are and have been on the wait list you def should have gotten your allocation. I got my allocation in December and it is taking till July 26th for it to actually deliver. So from allocation to having the car it will be about 9 months as well. I had been on the wait list for a year for a 911, and had even considered buying a 996 gt3 before my dealer finally told me I had an allocation, and was first in line finally.

Burning Brakes
@Vernin Correct!!
In fact the same logic applies if you sell your T.
Right now (at least in the UK) you’d make a tidy profit, but get the timing wrong and you won’t.
Irrespective of profit or loss I plan to hang on to my T for a couple of years at least or even until the next gen arrives.
BTW wonder what the next gen of 911 will be called?
We’ve had 991/992/993/996/997 plus of course 964.
Any bets??
