Wow! That’s weird.
I wonder how Porsche justify that?
Is it down to the fact that there is so little demand that the homologation doesn’t make it worthwhile?
Doesn’t your dealer have a theory?
I quizzed my SA about the inordinate delay, and he said that Australia comprises about 1% of the global 911 market and that Porsche (Germany) prioritises us accordingly.
This is a very tough question to answer, but as someone who owned a Gentian Blue 992 already, I am happy to provide my 2 cents:
1.) As you can see below, Gentian changes a lot depending on the light it is in. Sometimes it is electric blue (which I really liked)... Sometimes it is Purple (WHICH I LOVED)... and sometimes when its a little darker or cloudy it is Navy (which was really BORING)...
2.) Gentian for the most part held up to dirt (especially after ceramic was applied)... but like a black car does, gentian after 18 months started to show dirt and swirls more easily.
3.) IT really depends on the interior!! My interior was all black and black belts and Carrera Classic Wheels... If I had yellow Seat belts, and Some other yellow bits on the interior, or if I had red seat belts, red stitching and the fire extinguisher, I think I would have ordered Gentian again. without the color on the inside, I was ready to move on to a more POP of color in Rubystar.
I say, either go with Gentian and red belts, red seat back inserts, fire extinguisher option... or Gentian with Yellow Belts, Yellow Sport Chrono......... OTHERWISE, Id vote Yellow exterior with Yellow Seat Belts and a Black Interior
Yellow is really rare and cool. Gentian is really classy and in the right light when the deep purple comes through, it is FLAWLESS.. Tough call for sure (but get color on the inside if you go gentian)
My current Gentian build has shark blue belts (with rear seat optioned back in, that means more color ) and I'm doing exterior color accents in lieu of the piano black trim, so yes, some blue will creep inside. Coco mats with black/blue will likely be added. If I did yellow, there would be a yellow tach (the yellow trim in lieu of piano black looks hideous) and red belts (Old Bay style), since the idea of yellow seat belts is just a little much. My Facebook survey (which has a lot of PCA friends from the DC area), FWIW, overwhelmingly prefers the Gentian Blue, in large part because of the police factor but also that I live in the DC area where black/white/grey/silver/chalk make up about 80% of all new Porsches. Any kind of blue or red color stands out, let alone yellow, though strikingly similar colors to those available on Porsches as premium or PTS can be had on Corollas, Kias or Camaros without $13,000 premiums.
I would never mix yellow and red personally. Yellow seatbelts is just the ultimate Porsche p0rn. You will just love it. That blue and yellow is just fenomenal. Only thing missing are the yellow callipers. I do think yellow exterior is a great color for a T. But if you like yellow, how can you be so unsure about yellow seatbelts? That is just Porsche screaming there.
Just go for it! If you order them and don’t like them, I am happy to pay you back half of the price. Just need to find 1 more idiot and you’re good to go. In all seriousness: if you order them in yellow but don’t like them, you can always change them.
TYD still shows my T at Jacksonville but my SA says it’s been released for transport with ETA today to my dealer in North Carolina. And the Monroney just dropped from TYD!
Should I be concerned that it doesn’t specify side decals, which I do want, or is that because that’s the default, like rear seat delete, which I also want?

@Patriot Nice build! Side decal is standard so surely wouldn't show on your sticker as that is for options added to the standard spec?
I had the same time frame of a delay, and they took every day of it before it was released for transport. I felt the same as you do, but just because it looks like a running and driving car doesn;t mean it is.
Mine went into production a few days before yours and mine all last week was saying the same thing as your but a few days earlier in June. The status flipped when I checked this morning to on its way to the port arriving on 5/23 leaving Stutt. on 5/17. My guess is that it doesn't take but a day or two to get to port so I think that they are very loose with their dates. It appears that when you get a status it has already happened a few days before. So my guess is that it has arrived at emden and will get a notification next week that it arrived at port and when its on the boat it probably a few days at sea by the time its on the boat message. I just hope our cars don't sit at port for a month. Looks like the port of entry is somewhat near new york. Does anyone know the port of entry for us that are in the midwest or east coast? It doesn't look like Savannah its more north than that.
OK, my Change Freeze Point is less than a week away. Down to one fundamental question: G-Blue or Yellow? (Current build is G-Blue)
such a difficult question, both a beautiful colors. At the end of the day it really comes down to personal preference. If I had just these two to pick from, I would go with Yellow. To me, a car like this, that I’m not going to drive every day should pop. Buying a Q7 or a Cayenne I would pick GB every time. Yellow was my original choice and you can get seatbelts and gages to color match exactly (this is my OCD talking). But again, this is comes down to personal choice and what would make you look back at it more every time you walk away.
I am having more and more time to experiment with the driving characteristics. Unfortunately I am still not there to present a thorough review since I find the car still new and thus having more difficulties exploring its limits than my past not new cars. It just feels more special being a brand new car. And actually I am in no hurry at all. Plan on keeping her for many years. But anyway I would like to share some things so that you can read them and together we can discuss them.
Currently I am experimenting with the front end grip. I have no variable sport steering. I wanted to keep it all as mechanical as possible. But it is clear that Porsche developed this car with VSS in mind. I notice a tight heavy weight in the steering rack which could be just the tire pressure. Currently am driving on 2.4 front and 2.7 on the back. Warm temp. So will adjust those values in the next days to check the difference. Also experimenting with full 90l tank and almost empty tank.
There is a pretty “big” difference in ride comfort with the GTS and the 4S. The 4S was most comfortable. The T should not be less comfortable right? But it is. I like the damping. It’s definitely not as hard as the GTS (we are talking minorities here). You notice the bumps very well but in a softer way. The GTS is stiffer pushing them harder through the cabin. The T seems to have easier damping so the car is riding more over the bumps. One issue is that I cannot do a 1 to 1 comparison. So it could be just me. The good thing is you feel everything what’s happening under your car on the road, but the harshness is more forgiving. To me it’s perfect. I never loved too much comfort but also hate bouncing away in my car. I can understand for some the car would be a bit too stiff.
Another thing you can’t miss in the (tight) corners is the diff clicking in. Am doing more and more high speed turn corners and the car feels extremely well. At first you think the tires are rolling/flexing. But it’s just the diff waking op and settling so from that moment you need to push through. It all feels so mechanical I just love it. The car is everything I hoped for. And can’t wait to explore it even more. It’s really a drivers car. Very engaging.
