992 Carrera T Club

@tourenwagen We didn’t discuss details yet. He looked below passenger seat to see if there was a factory amp like u see on utube for Euro 992s. He said nothing there. If u can find a sub small enough to fit there, that may work. I’m likely going to add a single 10” in the back. He said should be plenty. Ha, I better keep volume down…now afraid of rear thin glass shattering. I’m going as high quality as possible on it. As u probably know… quality/prices range greatly on these. He guaranteed me that I can delete it anytime back to factory on everything. I can ask your question later but my install guy is pretty darn busy these days.
@Barkat03 I’ll likely get it done soon. Been discussing more seriously with my installer on option 2. He wants my car for a full day to take his time and do a perfect job. So need to get on his schedule which I’m unsure how much I need to wait. I’ll definitely provide an update later. I’ve done this before on other car in past and was sufficient….especially on a sports car. That said, I was driving my Benz this morning and had the Burmester blasting. Sounds super nice. If u want to improve everything, ur gonna have to spend some quids. Ha, I asked one of my UK buds where the word quid came from and he didn’t know.

Thanks! No urgency, I actually used the radio for the first time yesterday on a quick drive. It is definitely crap for a $130k+ car however I still think it's listenable. Between the manual transmission and $hi1tty NJ roads I'm pre-occupied anyway and music is quite literally background noise. If I do anything it will likely be a next winter project just to keep busy.

Your optimism is appreciated! So far it hasn't moved and has no updates on TYD. Allegedly still in Zuffenhausen. I'm hoping they hold the car at least until October dates open up. At this point I'm going to Germany in October anyway since I have lots of family there (30 mins from Weissach) and my brother is visiting with his family. Would be extra special for the planets to align and give me an ED slot!!! I hold a German passport so maybe I can switch to German factory collection
I'll be following this closely. Personally, I'm probably fine with base audio from a usability perspective. I have had enough audiophile experiences that no high-end audio in a sports car is worthwhile (I blame a listening session with a $60k KEF Blade setup). I'd rather take the $5k Burmester upgrade cost and put it towards some new floorstanders.
That being said the engineer in me may get the best of it and I'll see if I can swap in some Focal Audio car speakers that fit. I've pulled apart the dash in the 3 Porsches I've owned prior to ordering the T, so I doubt the T will be safe from my curious hands.

Also swap out the 3 - 4" in the front dash. I did all 5 and my Bronco B&O system sounds 10x better than stock. Also dynamat the crap out of the area around the sub. Helps a ton.

I had the sub enclosure professionally wrapped with Dynamat and that totally eliminated all rattles and creaks from the bass. I'm very happy with the stereo now and get many compliments on it. Looking forward to seeing how the Burmester on my T compares.
@stiff///M Agreed. I swapped out the 2 front dash with JVC's from Crutchfield and am very happy with the sound. I have not replaced the center speaker (yet) - it is the stock B&O.

For the center channel on the Bronco I went with this. You don't need a tweeter as it acts as a center channel. It sounds great and I added it after the other 4 and noticed a big difference.

PPF Jail is the worst
At a slight tangent ….
As previously stated, loving the sound of the engine, but as a daily drive there are times I’m stuck in stationary or very slow moving traffic. The standard speakers are totally ****e!
This morning sat in a friends brand new Audi S3 and he played ‘Dani California’!
Then we played it in the T…. a HUGE difference in quality. Turn up the bass and the speakers rattle.
Has anyone (that didn’t spec Burmester) sourced a reasonably priced aftermarket sound system?
Talking around £/$/€ 2k ish.
Doing research and seems the amplifier is good enough, just the speakers and sound insulation that need replacing.

Anyone of you Canadians still waiting for your car from the Neptune Koper? Arrived at port in Halifax on 4/28 and left enroute to dealer 5/2 (confirmed by SA). Crickets since then.Guessing held up at the main rail transfer port in Toronto..Ughhhhh...running out of things to keep my mind pre-occupied! Any insight appreciated. Gotta be here soon!
