Yup, no brainer in my mind. Every time I look at mine I can't picture it without them now.

Ha, this is like getting a group together at work to schedule conference call.

I say we go with September 10 (Sunday) for the 992 T meet. People will need to chime in on exact time since some may be driving a bit of distance. I’m flexible. Also, we’ll need to pick meetup spot. There’s a huge lot at the bottom of Bear Mountain which could work, but open to other ideas. Below is the list of 992 T owners showing up. Everyone on this forum with one is welcome!
  1. Adamisadam
  2. Cartod (maybe)
  3. CengueFever
  4. Duktail
  5. ECNJ
  6. Russdc
  7. Sharkblue982
  8. Toph4242

Earlier in the day the better if we are looking at a Sunday... Would like to be on the road back home to Boston by mid afternoon (3-4 hour drive for me). As long as I'm hitting the road by 3pm to go home I'll be happy!
We could aim for a cars and coffee late morning start? 10am? and then have a drive somewhere for a lunch meet up? That gives people two different time frames to meet...morning for locals and lunch spot for those coming longer distance?

How early could you be there? You're probably coming from the furthest point @toph4242 .

It gets busy there. So I'm wondering if we have an early meet, like 7am or so, drive up through Bear Mtn area, and to a second meeting point at around 10am. And that's where people traveling far can meet up. Then we'll reverse that path coming back south.

I have a friend in the area who knows these roads and meeting points. I'll work on this. But in general, how does this sound for a general plan?

As mentioned, I want a good blend of car engine, induction, exhaust (I even heard a bit of turbo whistle today) sounds with better music sound. Option 1 - Replace the 4 door speakers and 2 dash twitters and add an amp to drive them. In USD, about $2,500 installed. He anticipates good improvement but may still be lacking with bass ( depending on individual expectations) Option 2 - He thinks u can leave the factory system in place (again, if going for good blend car and music sound combo) and add a sub box with built-in amp to increase significant bass. He said u really have to add even a small box for good bass which is what I thought he’d say. Perfect spot on 992 rear deck to add with no drilling/mounting. Strong Velcro only. If removed later, no residual effects he said. He personally makes custom car audio harnesses so no factory wire cutting either. I think it’s important to find an installer that understands how some of us Porsha owners are particular about being able to revert anything to factory/stock if desired. Cost about 1,000 USD installed. Likely what I’ll do. I’ll share report later on how much I like/dislike it if I do it. I’m still considering. I like to take my time with mods. Do it right…do it once.
Just been mulling on this and thinking of going the slimline under the seat subwoofer unit if it will fit. Did a couple of these years ago and if I remember you just tap into the speaker wires since its a powered sub. If that doesn't pan out, did he happen to mention if that factory system has any kind of pre-out?

@ECNJ
Thanks for the feedback about the sound system🙏
If as you say you’re gonna go with option 2, I might just wait till you have it installed to hear your opinion.
The thing is, with so many T owners having specced Bose only to be told it’s not available, there is potentially a lot of business waiting for a reasonably priced installer, even just among some of the members of this forum.
I’m sure people that ordered a basic, an S, or various other versions of 992’s are in the same boat!

I like this... I'm early to rise, so If its around 3 hours to wherever we are meeting I'm sure I could be on the road by 5/5:30 and there by 8/8:30... otherwise I can just leave at 7 and meet for the 10am location.
I think we should also keep both the Saturday and Sunday open as options for "Rain Day" as you mentioned earlier.

I like everyone’s suggestions. I like Saturday, but it’s usually more crowded there than Sunday. I can be there anytime group decides. Ha, at midnight if u want…but may need some Bear spray then.

Question: Are side decals applied at Emden or at your local port stateside?

Your optimism is appreciated! So far it hasn't moved and has no updates on TYD. Allegedly still in Zuffenhausen. I'm hoping they hold the car at least until October dates open up. At this point I'm going to Germany in October anyway since I have lots of family there (30 mins from Weissach) and my brother is visiting with his family. Would be extra special for the planets to align and give me an ED slot!!! I hold a German passport so maybe I can switch to German factory collection

Then we played it in the T…. a HUGE difference in quality. Turn up the bass and the speakers rattle.
Has anyone (that didn’t spec Burmester) sourced a reasonably priced aftermarket sound system?
Talking around £/$/€ 2k ish.
Doing research and seems the amplifier is good enough, just the speakers and sound insulation that need replacing.
I'll be following this closely. Personally, I'm probably fine with base audio from a usability perspective. I have had enough audiophile experiences that no high-end audio in a sports car is worthwhile (I blame a listening session with a $60k KEF Blade setup). I'd rather take the $5k Burmester upgrade cost and put it towards some new floorstanders.

That being said the engineer in me may get the best of it and I'll see if I can swap in some Focal Audio car speakers that fit. I've pulled apart the dash in the 3 Porsches I've owned prior to ordering the T, so I doubt the T will be safe from my curious hands.

@tourenwagen We didn’t discuss details yet. He looked below passenger seat to see if there was a factory amp like u see on utube for Euro 992s. He said nothing there. If u can find a sub small enough to fit there, that may work. I’m likely going to add a single 10” in the back. He said should be plenty. Ha, I better keep volume down…now afraid of rear thin glass shattering. I’m going as high quality as possible on it. As u probably know… quality/prices range greatly on these. He guaranteed me that I can delete it anytime back to factory on everything. I can ask your question later but my install guy is pretty darn busy these days.

@Barkat03 I’ll likely get it done soon. Been discussing more seriously with my installer on option 2. He wants my car for a full day to take his time and do a perfect job. So need to get on his schedule which I’m unsure how much I need to wait. I’ll definitely provide an update later. I’ve done this before on other car in past and was sufficient….especially on a sports car. That said, I was driving my Benz this morning and had the Burmester blasting. Sounds super nice. If u want to improve everything, ur gonna have to spend some quids. Ha, I asked one of my UK buds where the word quid came from and he didn’t know.

OH, he also said he’s done work on 992 Bose system. Said they’re junky and I’m not missing out.
