OK. Since my T is now delayed another month or so, I’m bored and would like to chit chat about upgrades post delivery. I probably won’t do much for awhile or if ever. Just curious what others may be thinking of upgrading. Below is my list of potential aftermarket upgrade items. This is just stuff I’m pondering- not that I’d do any of it. Please no comment on it would add this amount of weight, ruin the T, kill the warranty, etc. Yes, I’ve done all on my list to past cars and aware of pros and cons. Just wondering if anyone is considering anything not on my list? Again, just for kicks. Jokes are welcome also!
1 - Clear side markers
2 - Wind buffeting trim piece
3 - Window tint / ppf / ceramic coat
4 - Audio upgrade
5 - Sports Cats
6 - Body kit
7 - Turbo upgrade
8 - ecu upgrade
9 - Wheels / tires upgrade
10 - Roll Bar, ha

Anyone think anything would be accomplished by asking SA to tell ze Germans that “for real, I clicked no decal for a reason.”
Or are we all just getting the stickers whether we like it or not? Very German lol.

You do realize the lighter is about more than going fast right? A lighter car accelerates, brakes, and turns with more agility. That's the point of less weight, not "going faster".
You won't see anything until or unless people put their Ts on scales. Yes, the curb weight quoted is a zero option car in the configurator with 90% full tank. Sure, there's some marketing in the lightweight idea but for someone like me who wants the most raw and basic car, it's the perfect platform. Mine will drop at least 100 lbs and starting with a car that has light glass and, rear seats, and light weight carpet is a plus.
This doesn't make sense. Do you remember where you found this info?
I've yet to see anyone weight their 992 T. Until then, we don't know exactly how Porsche is weighing the cars. Is the weight they show on their site with the base configuration (i.e. rear seat delete and 4ways, etc.)? If that's the case then the S and GTS weight would be with PDK since that is in the base configuration. I'm seriously trying to understand these numbers, because none of it really makes much sense. If you think the T is the lightweight option in the Carrera line-up then where does the lightweight come from? Just the sound insulation? And how much are you really saving (apples to apples). The GTS can be ordered with a lightweight pack (although it's currently unavailable like man other things), so they only thing heavier is probably the turbos and the brakes. It comes with forged wheels and aero bumpers standard as well. It's only a 95lbs heavier than the T in the tech specs (manual for both). If you remove the rear seats and get a lightweight battery, I'm sure that difference will be much less. Plus some of that weight comes from the larger brakes, which would be unsprung weight (as well as rotational). So, I'm seriously wondering why people are saying that this is a lightweight, bare bones, back to basics 911? To me, it's mostly marketing and if I'm buying a T (which I've done), it's for the ability to get the base 911 in manual with SPASM, etc. Not the minuscule weight savings. And I'm really wondering how the youtubers are saying they feel the weight (or lack of) when they have 150-200lbs passenger sitting next to them. I feel like there's a lot of Kool Aid involved here. I'm not saying the T isn't all that. It is! But to think that it's the lightweight 911 is a bit of a stretch. The T with PDK is 16lbs lighter than the base carrera with PDK. That's from the tech specs on the Porsche website, which again, I'm not sure how they are spec'ing the car when they come up with the weight. I wish Porsche showed the weight of each option when you add it in the configurator.
Also, the 992 T is about 100lbs heavier than the 991.2 T with a few more horses, which basically is what you get when you go S or GTS. A bit more weight but more horses.
Again, not trying to hate or be a naysayer, but I seriously would love to see some real world weights of the T, S, GTS, etc. The tech specs and a bunch of speculation doesn't do anything.

Three Wheelin'
I don't know. I'm guessing so since it would be the standard spec. If you look at the webpage for the base or T and click on technical specs, you can see the weights under 'body'. This is why I posted my 'long' post about the T really being lightweight. To me 16lbs difference is nothing. And the fact that you can gain the same with other models makes it less 'special'. What makes the T special (again) is that you can spec a manual on the base carrera and get SPASM, RAS, PTV, etc. Still waiting on some concrete evidence instead of assumptions. And again, not trying to stir the pot. Just asking.

@avid The 16lbs info came directly from the tech specs on Porsche's website. Makes sense to me since the only difference when both are spec'd with PDK is the battery, lightweight glass, and the insulation.
