992 Carrera T Club

I guess I cant be the No T guy anymore :-)
…congrats to all who have been patiently waiting…
Order what you like, but definitely recommend getting your T w. lightweight EVERYTHING, no sunroof, buckets, rear seat delete and manual - IMHO it’s a really special car when spec’d as a proper T and proper spec’d T’s should hold value for a long time
Reading previous posts here and the new T does NOT offer buckets and PCCB? WTF porsche? That is a miss. I could live without the brakes but lightweight buckets are a must for my T!

PCCB has been getting pulled off of a lot of orders for anything non GT so I wasn't expecting to see it here. Maybe if supply gets better. If its available before my order gets to its lock date, I'll happily order it, if not, Girodisc is getting my money for their 350mm f/r rotors

There is also a color missing (Ruby Star Neo) from the configurator & I was told there might be an additional "Lightweight package" similar in scope with the GTS lightweight package.

I already have pink/tartan P1 Designs inserts for my 718 buckets so I'm going to transfer them over to the 911 T when its here.

But thinking about this more deeply, if you want the cheapest 911 with PDK + PTV then you probably should get the T?! On the other hand jumping to the S does yield huge performance gains for PDK out of the box. You will pay a very hefty premium for that though!
If you were going PDK only, which trim would you actually purchase? Like with your own money!
Everyone on this forum says that everyone is going to be ordering their T in manual only. And yet, more than half of 991.2 used T's have the PDK! What gives?!

I am tending to agree. If you want/need a PDK I am not sure the T is the best car for that.

Technically the Carrera 4 with the PTV option clicked gives you PDK + PTV for $116,350 if you click no other options

Its nice to see this car finally launched. I have been lurking through this discussion for the last 6 or so months. Excited to see what Porsche has done with the options of this car and its standard equipment.
I was disappointed to see they did not go with the GT3's PDK shifter option as I think the sequential shift ability is really enjoyable in these cars. Being a driver focused car I think this was a missed opportunity. Maybe even an "enthusiast package" that offers this shifter for $2k or something to set it apart from the S or rest of the PDK cars..
Regardless I would go for the Manual transmission anyway.
Decisions, decisions...

base is $107,550 inc. destination
add:
$1790 Carrera S wheels
$1290 wheel color
$810 Sport Seats Plus
$610 Model Designation Stripe Decal
$300 Porsche Logo on rear in High Gloss Black (its dark on the T, not sure if its the same titanium grey as the rest of the T trim or black but this is the closest option)
$310 Model Designation on Rear in Exterior color (to match the T titanium grey)
$2790 Sport Chrono
$2950 Sport Exhaust System with tailpipes in black
$1250 Lightweight and Noise Insulated Glass
$330 GT Sport Steering Wheel in Leather
$290 Porsche Crest on Headrests (to mimic the 911 on the headrests in the T)
$910 Interior trim in Light Silver (to mimic the T standard matte black/gloss black interior trim)
-------
$121,180 vs the T's starting $118,050 and you'd be missing standard Sport PASM ($1020 on the S trim), PTV/PTV+ ($???) and would have leather seat centers instead of the sport tex. You could argue that you wouldn't spec all the extras on the T on the base, but you'd still be missing the two performance options that are standard, the ability to option RAS, and maybe the option to add buckets if that is something you'd like.

So I was trying to think about the final gear comment that's been brought up. Since the base only came in PDK, wouldn't the manual naturally have a different final gear? Where as with the 991.2 T, there is a base manual. In the 992, there is no base manual to compare the T with. Is this right?

It cannot be weight since, as far as I know, the PDK case gets somewhat better this time with the addition of PTV for the PDK T BUT there is a significant weight disadvantage for the PDK T. According to the online configurator there is a 87 lbs penalty for going PDK in the T. 3254 lbs to 3,338 lbs. For comparison an S with a manual AND rear seats is 38 pounds lighter (3300lbs) than a PDK T.
I debated a PDK T as well since I find the paddles engaging enough and its so fun to go up and down gears. Also my spouse is not motivated enough to learn manual so PDK has huge positives for me. That being said, I'm not looking for outright speed (Would get a Tesla if I wanted that). I am looking for fun!

Very excited about this car, 3rd/4th in line at my local dealer. this would be my first new P car for me and ill have to get rid of my F80 M3 for it. The thought of speccing out a brand new 911 is a life long dream come true which outweighs my love of the M3.

Color is expensive. You could save a lot if you dropped down to White or Carrera White and live with it. But its subjective so if you love Chalk, its cash you have to spend.
I left Surround View and Power Fold Mirrors off my build, the car is small enough that I don't need surround view to tell me where the car ends.
