Then they called me this morning about an available T allocation. I showed up with a check < 3 hours later.

Here's something else I found interesting: my SA showed me a screen that showed there are only 69 currently scheduled/allocated T's in the entire US as of 1/16. I would have guessed it was a couple hundred - I told him at least half of those allocations are folks posting on rennlist since I'm pretty sure I've seen a few dozen ppl reporting allocations here the past four weeks (plus a select few in Nov)! Anyway, we could see the port of entry + the MSRP for all the current US-bound T's, and we could drill into each one. We saw a couple T's loaded up to $155k - an impressive feat w/o PTS! We drilled into the details/config of the last one - it was def not an "ethos" build nor a "poverty spec" like mine is (I was planning to spend about $30k more on a Carrera S w/PTS but I'm more than content w/my T build as-is).
That is interesting. My dealer is in VA, but since you are in MD, I thought maybe it might be the same dealer. My build was right at $130K. 18ways and Burmester were the only splurges. I still plan on getting a 911 but want to wait a bit for things to calm down. Dealer was asking for me to add things like coating and PPF and I do that with my detailer. I didn't want to pay for things that I would just have removed anyway. Plus the cost was ridiculous.

As for ED, sounds like Zuff is now fully booked for the year, but Leipzig is scheduling september dates... If you are willing to wait till september, I think they will hold that car that long for you. I am heading to Leipzig in June for mine, and they told me no issues holding it that long and could do longer if dates were changed.
Thanks! Not sure what "scheduled for production date" is - same as lock date? It sounds like V250 "fixed" date (which says 3/3) might be the same as "freeze" date or "lock" date but I'm not sure - obv'ly it'd be nice to know the actual last date I can make changes, not that I'm too worried - only potentially waffling on RAS + the finish of the exhaust outlets.

I'm anxious to see what Joey comes up with. I'm pretty patient with waiting now that I have an allocation - I have three other cars & I really want to drive my own car all over the Alps. I did Euro Delivery for my M2 in Oct 2017 (did Stelvio - one hairpin was so tight I had to reverse, which was def not the fun part...), then I went over & rented an M2 in early June 2019 (did Grossglockner + Klausen but Gotthard/Furka/Grimsel/Susten were not fully open). That said, having my car sit for a whopping six months does not sound too palatable...

I hear you - Towson is < 20 min drive from me (close!) but there's a closer Porsche dealer I could walk to; however, I didn't want to work w/them because they make 911 buyers purchase a "silver protection pkg" costing like $2900 plus a prepaid maint pkg. I could live w/the latter since I'd clearly get something for it, but I wasn't interested in wasting $3k. I also balked at giving them $2500 just to be on their waitlist, tho they swear ("scout's honor!") that would guarantee my spot on said list (which admittedly clearly did not happen at Towson).

Good on you. I had a bad experience at Bethesda myself. Probably not the same dealer but never again.

No doubt, but for me if I were to get a T, performance vis-a-vis its siblings the S or GTS is irrelevant.

What I want is more tactile visceral experience where you are driving the car more than the car is driving you.

Regarding the diverse ages on this thread, reckon I’m pretty unique … physically I’m 68 but in my mind I’m 27 (possibly 28).
When I was physically 27 I wanted an 911 but couldn’t afford one. Mentally I’ve never aged, still 27😄.
Today visiting dealership to freeze options, del expected mid/late March.
Ive built up to the 911 starting with Boxster S Ann edition, Macan GTS, Cayenne S, Cayenne GTS, Taycan RWD.
Now it’s time for a bit of fun👍

I received my dealers first 911 T allocation. Almost seemed too easy. At MSRP. Does anyone know if this car has a demand beyond each dealers allocation? Are dealers typically asking for a premium over msrp?

I would like to keep this T for around a year and drive it around the country - then trade it in for a 992.2 model of some kind.

one dealer told me he had 15 requests but only two allocations to hand out. Hoping this car will hold its msrp value for a year or even two to use as a trade in to leverage an allocation for maybe A GT3 with a sub $30,000 premium.

Base Targa 4’s are not in big demand. Typically due to the base engine- this same bias might reduce the -T demand as well.

Well made points, 737... I love the parking sign on the wall

V250 I believe is about 10 days after the Freeze date. So for me it looks like Freeze is 2/12, scheduled for production 2/22 and build commences 3/10 and completes on 3/17.

I also did the "porsche drve rental" back in 2019 and drove through the Alps/Stelvio/ Julier pass... best trip ever. This time I am determined to pick up my own car and explore some other fantastic roads.

Just returned from face to face meet with dealer to freeze options, although official freeze date is this Friday.
Delivery scheduled for March 17th.
My dealer has 20 x Carrera T orders, slightly more manual than auto.
Was considering red, but there was a 2018 red 921.2 in for a service and didn’t look great, so GT silver it is.
Now just need to sell the Taycan to part fund it, but sadly they’re depreciating rather quickly at mo😞😞

Which is why occasionally it's good to switch that PCM off, forget about whether the thing has red, pink, mauve, or lilac stitching through it's yards of specially chosen perfect cow hide, and just drive the d...m thing. Then you realize that despite literally thousands of posts about such things, these are at their core still superb driving machines and that money you worked so hard to earn is well spent.

20 T orders, or 20 T allocations? I’m very curious if the 69 US allocations is true or not.

This is for sure "demand orders"... no way they got 20 allocations.

Just spoke to my dealer yesterday (in Toronto) and they said that they have a 3 year waitlist for the T already...

Perfect attitude - and the pics also show that GT Silver fits perfectly on a T.
