Go figure...
Aftermarket tint is regulated by the states. Each state has its own regulations.

New vehicle tint is regulated by the Federal Govt. The regulation is Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) and it is not allowed on anything the Federal Govt considered as "car".

In practice this means no OEM is allowed to offer tinted windows but you do what you want as soon as it leaves the showroom.

Congrats, that sounds amazing! Do you have any details on whether/how much extra you pay if you drop off in Stuttgart or Amsterdam? Or is there no extra charge if you drop off at those spots? I have not seen details on the additional charges associated with the various drop-off spots. Thanks and have a great trip.

Thank you... The brochure that was provided by the ED team states that "Stuttgart/Sindelfingen is a NO COST option for dropping the vehicle off. I guess it is not actually the factory in Zuffenhausen where you drop it, but somewhere very close to it.
The Amsterdam location is listed on the "drop off location list" but it is currently blacked out and says "Temporarily Unavailable". I have some family that live right near Emden Port in the Netherlands, so I was really hoping this would work as my final destination location and drop off, but might not happen... I will let you know if I hear of this opening back up again. Leipzig (where Im picking it up) is the only other NO COST option... everything else in Germany is about 2-300 Euro... every other country is about 1000 Euro+. I will likely just drop in Stuttgart or Leipzig again after I've finished my week of exploring (or Amsterdam if it opens: was a 500 Euro cost). I cant see myself paying that much to leave in another country, which also extends the time it takes to get back to the USA. I think they say leaving in Leipzig is the fastest track back to the US, but this is a question I want the answer to because if I can save 2+ weeks from the shipping timeline, I will adjust the direction of my driving/vacation slightly to help with that.

I've been considering a used GT3 that's available locally instead of the 992 T this week. Test drove it Monday and its amazing but I'm not sure I'd use it as my daily driver like I would with the T, so I'd need another car on top of the GT3 vs just one car with the T (mainly just comes down to the back seats for my kids in case I need to take them somewhere and the wife is out with her car.)

I played that thought experiment before. Resided on the fact that I can add a GT3 to the garage in a few years and daily the T. Not to mention GT3 values will continue to correct…

And I agree... Im actually happier with the Leipzig option, and if in a perfect world where I could pick either, I think this is the one I would have gone with.
Ha! I'd already looked at the legal agreement when booking to check exactly that. They seem very strict about no photography, but we'll see what it is actually like. I WANT TO SEE A T IN RUBY

I do agree that this is the wrong time to buy the GT3... Certain 991 variants will go back down in value a bit in my opinion over the next 1-2 years. Id say if you aren't paying a large ADM on the T... you will likely get more enjoyment out of it, feel less pressure to keep miles off and have potentially one of the last real 911s before they switch to hybrid/digital tachs etc... I dont think a T is a bad investment, and I dont think a GT3 is a bad investment... but I do think the GT3 will force you to be a lot more careful about how many miles you drive it, where you park it and how you enjoy it.

If the GT3 feels right to you though, go for it and enjoy the hell out of it. I cant wait to add one to my garage someday, but for now Im too excited about the build process and specifications that the T offers to walk away

When I was there in 2019, the tour guide was allowed to take a couple pictures of you in certain locations, but basically they take your phone away for the tour... Like im almost certain I left it in a lock box somewhere haha.

Are you guys asking for any 'freebies' to be thrown in?

I have heard of things like:
- clear corners
- day pass to performance center

???

When I bought my last 992, my dealer threw in a number of surprise freebies... They did the clear side markers, car cover, sweatshirt, and then the nicest one of all was about a month after I took delivery they sent me a gift card for a custom suit fitting in the amount of $750 at a local custom clothing store. I had a really nice dinner jacket made up and thought that was a really cool touch.
another month or two later they sent me an invite to a free track day with porsche cars provided on site.
