I am all about NA, and would understand the sentiment I it was an S or S with power kit compared to the 991.2, but a base 991.1 has substantially more of a performance deficit than the higher trim levels.

I have a feeling I'm younger than most here, I just turned 31 today. I also remember going to a Porsche dealer with my dad back in the day and sitting in the back seat of a 996 and falling in love with the 911, so much that our next family vacation was to Stuttgart to visit the old museum.

Hi all - another long-time lurker, first-time poster here - been following this thread ever since the announcement back in October. After watching so many of you get T allocations the past four weeks, finally I can say I got a Carrera T allocation today! First Porsche incoming...
Someone backed out of this T allocation - I had thought I was first in line (for both S & T) but apparently someone who had purchased from them before got bumped ahead of me on the T list. I placed a demand order way back in July 2021 for a Carrera S (ED + PTS) so an allocation has been 18 months in the making. I had originally wanted a Carrera T (loved the 991.2 T except for its super-limited color choices) so not really bothered by T vs S - mainly disappointed in the lack of PTS (Carrera T with PTS is a LIE) as I've been fully set on Oak Green ever since Night Blue was flagged in spring 2021 as being discontinued in Nov 2021.
I was offered a GTS allocation back on 12/23 but turned it down - too expensive, more power than I need, and can't get sport-tex seat inserts or gray/platinum wheels. As for my T, not sure what my lock date is - dealer said 2/12, then his screen said 2/16, then the printout says V250 ("Vehicle fixed") on 3/3 (not sure if that's the same as the freeze/lock date). Regardless, build start is 3/10 and complete on 3/17. Deal is at MSRP. Selected Zuffenhausen for ED but I think that has almost zero chance of working out due to the production date along with ED being booked into at least early summer already for Zuff. Sent Joey an email - may try for Leipzig if they can hold my car there at least until late June - I have 20+ Alpine passes on my rough itinerary (this would be my third European driving trip) so even late May or early June would be too early for me to go as not all the mountain passes will be fully open by then (I got burned by this back in early June 2019!).
Hoping they don't spoil the 992.2 as I still lust for a brand-new Oak Green 911 in the not-too-distant future! Here's my build - I may add RAS (for tight Alpine hairpins) if ED scheduling works out for me: http://www.porsche-code.com/PP95DN57

PS: Isn't it wonderful that people in their early 30s and their late 70s can relate to each other through cars!
God bless you,

As for ED, sounds like Zuff is now fully booked for the year, but Leipzig is scheduling september dates... If you are willing to wait till september, I think they will hold that car that long for you. I am heading to Leipzig in June for mine, and they told me no issues holding it that long and could do longer if dates were changed.

Some of my closest friends (and newest) I've met at local car events, cars and coffee and PCA events. I may be younger, but when you find other people with oil running through their veins its like feeling understood for the first time in your life. My grandfather (just turned 102 years old) is a car fanatic with a very special collection that he built over the years. He's got 72 years on me, but I talk to him every week and he still makes me drive him to the local Porsche, Ferrari and Lamborghini dealers every sunday "just to see whats on the lot."

I really hope that expanding the "Porsche Drive" Rental program will help people my age who would never even consider looking at a Porsche to maybe go and rent one/test one out, see that there are some "affordable" models that are very fun to drive and maybe convince those thinking about buying a pre-owned/older more affordable model to pull the trigger and join PCA...

Here's something else I found interesting: my SA showed me a screen that showed there are only 69 currently scheduled/allocated T's in the entire US as of 1/16. I would have guessed it was a couple hundred - I told him at least half of those allocations are folks posting on rennlist since I'm pretty sure I've seen a few dozen ppl reporting allocations here the past four weeks (plus a select few in Nov)! Anyway, we could see the port of entry + the MSRP for all the current US-bound T's, and we could drill into each one. We saw a couple T's loaded up to $155k - an impressive feat w/o PTS! We drilled into the details/config of the last one - it was def not an "ethos" build nor a "poverty spec" like mine is (I was planning to spend about $30k more on a Carrera S w/PTS but I'm more than content w/my T build as-is).
