I would not presume that T availability will be any better than the GTS. In fact, with ADM, a T may cost more off of the lot than an S. If you can’t get a T for less than the S, get the S.

Porsche is required to submit a VIN decoder to the NHSTA. It's public record on their website. This was submitted last month:

If the 992 T is coming I am happy to be wrong in previous comments… good news to all who can land an allocation …I miss my 991 T, amazing car all around.
Im still not 100% convinced - but the latest news does seem positive.

Having just driven my 991 T for the first time in ages due to surgery the question is will the 992 be able to carry off the nimbleness and lightness feeling🤔 I’d forgotten how right it feels on B roads around me here in Ireland.
I wonder if the 992 is a bit too wide?
Age old question!

I wonder how they will keep “lightness” of the 991.2 in the 992T as mentioned above. Perhaps they will incorporate all the CF panels that the 992 GT3 had to have to keep it light but I’d think that would significantly increase cost. I’m still not holding my breath for this announcement anytime soon just because there is a picture of a placeholder in a computer. Porsche is incredibly behind on filling allocations (hence huge ADM) which was only exacerbated by the felicity ace. Ultimately they are going to decide if/when to have a T based on financials and markets. Which reminds me, has anyone pictured on testing yet…maybe I missed that.
Maybe the only reason for the T is the transmission which still blows my mind. If 90% of buyers choose PDK and 10% MT why not upcharge for the PDK as in the past instead of having a low volume trim for it…Porsche would make way more money that way? Of course this decision could be just like the Macan T that literally has no difference in options other than the base except sportex and sport exhaust if you don’t change the seats.

Seems like it wouldn’t be hard to drop the curb weight thru deleting content. With a manual transmission, delete some sound deadening like in the GTS, rear seat delete, pull straps on the doors and of course replacing the front badge with a sticker (heh)… it seems like it should be around 100 lbs lighter than a typical Carrera with PDK but I haven’t done the detailed math. Just some low hanging fruit.

Yeah... I think it will be very similar formula as before:
-Same body as the Base model 992...
-Revised Front Lip
-Agate Grey Exterior Trim Bits (mirror caps, wheels, decals/model designation)
-Base Engine
-PASM 10mm Lower Suspension
-Reduced Sound Deadening
-Thinner Rear Glass
-Manual Transmission w/ Shorten Shifter
-GT Steering Wheel
-Rear Seat Delete
-Pull Strap Door Release
-Special Sport or Race Tex?

Some 991 T stuff…
- Last of the narrow body 911s
- Last 911 w. a “real” Key and “real” door handles??
- Write ups described the 991 T as "the purest 991 carrera"
- 'Why the T is more collectible than a GT3'
https://www.motorious.com/articles/f...ble-than-a-gt3
- Car & Driver has the Carrera T Manual hitting 0-60 in 3.7 seconds
- In Car & Drivers Lighting Lap the Carrera T with 370 HP beats the new M5 with 615 HP
- The 2018 model year Carrera T celebrated the 50th anniversary of Vic Elford winning the Monte Carlo Rally in 1968 with his 911T. Porsche had a new 2018 T built commemorating the anniversary
- Rennlisters may be familiar with Janko's review of the carrera T, where he states the true intention of the car was as a tribute to the ClubSport (the story goes the clubsport name was copyrighted by BMW and could not be used) Thus my CLB-SPRT license plate. Janko states: "its a crime to order your T without bucket seats and a manual"
"Here's the thing: Porsche wanted to name it "Clubsport" after its spiritual predecessor, the 1987 911 Carrera 3.2 Clubsport, but BMW owns the trademark on that name these days. "T" is what they had left."
"Achleitner told me in 2017 that the GT3 Touring Package was Porsche's response to 911R prices skyrocketing. But even that was an expensive, limited-production car--just not quite as expensive or limited as the R. As a result, he'd been fielding requests for a more affordable 911 that got some of the same treatment as the R. His answer was the Carrera T."
