I had a 35% tint put on my windows almost a year ago with no problems.

It’s all about the tinter knowing it’s laminated glass and not filing the tint edge. That’s it. Has nothing to do with the film being applied.

Would you mind posting a photo of the 70% tint on your car?

I normally tint my cars 30% sides and rear, and 50% windshield, but I think 70% all around would be just enough to keep the UV rays out and darken the interior ever so slightly. Also, I think the all-black interior will make 70% tint appear darker.

Here are two of them. I went with 70% for two reasons. I wanted the Sport Seats Plus Backrest Shells in Ruby Star Neo to show through the rear window (see below), plus in my area many cars get pulled over for dark tint, so I wanted enough to not make it obvious and to keep my skin from burning... I tinted all windows the sane 70% (meaning that only 30% of light is blocked). I'll try to get some side shots later today, but the second one you can see the rear window vs. the front passenger fully down in comparison.

@Cartod I am getting my car tinted in August. 35 on the sides and back, then 70 on the front, can you tell me if the back should be lighter?

thanks for this! I thought 70% would have been a little darker. I'm wondering if 50% all around would be better for me...

Anyone here have 50% tint all around?

I have 70% on my windshield. It's basically invisible.

Man, I think this is 35%... But I also don't remember they may have sold me 50% but unlikely.

it looks as dark as the door windows, so probably the same? If so have you had any issues seeing out from behind you?

Correct I did the back window and doors the same.

No issues seeing out the back.

Tint preference is highly subjective to the individual owner, and highly objective to the law depending on the state or province you're living in. In Ontario, Canada, you can't have anything darker than 35% on the front side windows, and it's illegal to tint the windshield.

To answer your question, there's no right or wrong answer. Have the installer cut a piece of tint in different percentages and choose the one you like most. I've also liked darker tints but on the 911 I think I'll keep it on the lighter side. Just enough to block the UV rays and some sunlight while still being able to see the interior and show off my "spec" LOL
