Folks, should I be worried? Looks like my carrera T has been stuck at the local port of Benicia (in Northern California) since Dec 6th 2023. It has been 3.5 months already at the port (although I didn't thankfully wait for this time since I just made a deal and bought it from the dealer yesterday). Hoping no corrosion damage.

Hello!
I just bought my first new 911, the Carerra T. I was initially looking to spec one and searching for an allocation, but found a black carrera T with the options I was looking for at a nearby dealer in NorCal (through porsche finder website). The website said that the vehicle was incoming and available in June, so I went to the dealership today to ask about it. Imagine my surprise when the salesperson said "ohh the carrera T is already in the local port of Benicia and awaiting a buyer in order for it to be processed by Porsche and shipped to the dealer" (the reason being 100s of 911s stranded on ports awaiting a new chip to replace the existing one due to some non-conformant supplier in china). Anyway, I had a high-mileage 2013 C2S for trade-in, and we quickly worked out a deal for me to buy the new Carrera T at MSRP. Paperwork to trade-in my 2013 car was finished in minutes, we shook hands, and I got the email from Porsche to track my new Carrera T (immediately clicked on the link and confirmed that the car is indeed at the local port of Benicia). Salesguy said that porsche should release the car by monday or tuesday and it should be at the dealer by end of the week. Excited beyond belief! Thanks to this forum, been lurking the last month or so deciding on whether to buy or keep the 991.1 c2s, but the black carrera T with the 7-speed manual and the black/green interior made my decision for me.

I actually specced out an enthusiast build back when the T was announced. Was first in line at my local dealer but when it was time to lock in, they came back and said they weren't able to accept any PTS orders on a T. So instead of settling for a color I wasn't completely in love with, I decided to pass as I already had a PTS Slate Gray 991.2 GT3 in the garage. A year or so went by of casually checking the Finder site to see what was inbound. Well, about two months ago I came across literally the EXACT spec I tried to order in the same PTS Slate Gray (I know, I know, super original coming from the same dull gray color as my GT3 lol). So I reached out to the dealer and lo and behold, got a reply saying it was not a customer order and was just a dealer specced car that was still available. So I worked out a trade the next day for my GT3 - got the T at MSRP, cash back and a full sales tax credit. On top of that, I was immediately able to follow 95% of the build, almost as if I had submitted it back when I first tried.
It was just delivered to my doorstep this afternoon. Needless to say I'm over the moon happy with how it all played out. Now off to get the entire car covered in PPF and then finally, break-in!

PPF
Re: car coatings, I asked my SA about ceramic and or ppf? He made some interesting points, which lead me to think just ceramic solo. I too was considering and had priced out the front third of the car ppf and the entire car ceramic but after so advised I’m going with a just full ceramic. I think one has to asses local road conditions and environment we find ourselves in for car protection and if stored under cover. On the other hand If one plans to upgrade soon or plan to garage queen for the collection investment, then as much coverage as you can buy makes sense or motocrossing and long highway trips are your weekend passion then yes. A condom is protection plus! 😁
Just my thoughts, to each his own. These cars cost and are dreams we had for year, so there is no right or wrong, just what’s good for the owner.

On a side note, I just watched the video of the T chasing the GT3, you can turn off your infotainment screen, through the settings. in the vehicle, display, then turn off the screen. It helps to have that off when on the track.

I still really like your spec, it is unique! Also good to see more Ruby Stars out there

it has been dead for 6+ months. I got mine a few months ago but only because the sales manager was willing to pull some strings. Talk to your SM and see what he can do. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

Mine was approved about a month ago. Sales associate said he was hearing there were some PTS slots left and submitted my order with PTS. Few emails back and forth with Germany and boom V200 status.
