I sometimes use Adam’s Polishes Waterless Wash and a microfiber towel. Works well and is fairly quick if the car’s not too dirty. I mostly use it on my old 1971 BMW 2002 because it doesn’t get as filthy as my T. The T is PPF’d so no scratching. The old BMW has some patina already so I don’t worry about it too much but it doesn’t seem to leave scratches if the spray is applied reasonably liberally. I’d recommend testing a small area on the 911 beforehand if you go this route and it doesn’t have PPF.

My cracked windshield is fixed and the T is back in service. The Great Plains where I live are great for some good pulls on the straights that play nicely with the gearing on the 992 T. Today, however, since I’ve got her back I struck out on a fun drive into the nearby Mississippi River valley. A good touring road, which should be spectacular in the fall. I was thinking the whole time how much I just love this damn car! It calls to you to take it out on drives like this as someone said many pages ago. When I first got it back from the dealership the ride was very harsh and I realized they juiced the tire pressure ALL the way back up so I put it to partial load and it made for a comfortable drive. Let’s say these cars do get hybridized, heavier and more powerful in the future or even electrified, well, this is the car I would want to capture in a bottle and keep close in that future. I have a Taycan CT4 and I love it dearly as a daily driver but the T just has that special magic. Happy to see all these Ts going to enthusiasts!

Romped it today at 900 miles. 135 mph and 7k rpm’s. Still not redline but it’s coming Soon. This car is spectacular.

Prestige of a 911... Yada, yada... Driving dynamics is what matters.
Well, we can be gobsamacked together then. We’ll have that one thing in common.

I grew up on 911s and prefer the dynamics with the engine in back. But I also appreciate the incredibly rich history and tradition of the 911, which, of course, the Cayman is lacking. Finally, we should not ignore aesthetics. The 992 is a work of art. I’ll be polite and just say the Cayman has never made me look twice.

This will be my only comment on the topic as I agree with others that this is not the best thread in which to discuss it. People prefer one car over another for different reasons and it’s best to respect each other’s preferences. I will enjoy my Carrera T with no rear seats and I hope you enjoy your Cayman.

+1

In other news after, 11 days after our T PTS request was submitted we were finally denied yesterday afternoon. I expected as much, but I had hoped that I would be proven wrong. PTS is completely full for the entire 2024 MY.

Just for clarity, I bought a Carrera T, not a Cayman.

You definitely need to use a waterless wash product. WIth just water and a towel you are introducing some swirls into your paint (unless you are full PPF). Watch a few YT videos. Optimum No Rinse or the Adams Waterless Wash are great and are perfect for when you don't need a "full" two-bucket wash.

Peeps come to hear what Porsha / car 🚘 crazy and knowledgeable dudes like u have to share regularly. Being away for a WEEK can’t be acceptable…ok unless really really good reason.
@Barkat03 is this cause for a Red card? Sorry, I watch futbol but not at your level. It would definitely be a technical foul in basketball….

@ECNJ This is an excellent question!

If the intention is to stick as close as possible to the T ethos (poor man's GT3) there needs to be consistency, you can't cherry pick the bits that suit you personally.

1) Anyone removing rear seats should also remove the passenger seat.
2) Anyone removing the rear seats should replace them with a roll cage.

After all, previous generations of the T have even replaced the door handles with bits of cloth!
