992 Carrera T Club
I was kicking this around for a long time. I'm getting ceramic and front end PPF - and will probably put some matte black PPF on the high gloss black interior lower dash. I'm waiting on tinting windows (thinking 35%) to see if there is a recall on the lightweight glass.

Re: car coatings, I asked my SA about ceramic and or ppf? He made some interesting points, which lead me to think just ceramic solo. I too was considering and had priced out the front third of the car ppf and the entire car ceramic but after so advised I’m going with a just full ceramic. I think one has to asses local road conditions and environment we find ourselves in for car protection and if stored under cover. On the other hand If one plans to upgrade soon or plan to garage queen for the collection investment, then as much coverage as you can buy makes sense or motocrossing and long highway trips are your weekend passion then yes. A condom is protection plus! 😁
Just my thoughts, to each his own. These cars cost and are dreams we had for year, so there is no right or wrong, just what’s good for the owner.

I feel one’s actual color selection as well as if it is a metallic paint versus a non-metallic paint plays a rather large factor in regards to PPF. Porsche’s UNI paint (non-metallic) is fairly soft and because of such it swirls, marrs, and chips rather easily.
A ceramic coating is literally only as good as its installer. If a vehicle is not properly prepped then the longevity will be shortened. One should realistically not expect a ceramic coating to last more than 4 to 5 years (max). Anyone offering more protection than that is simply selling snake oil. Furthermore, one can only expect a ceramic coating to protect the paint from the elements as it is still susceptible to swirls and marring via improper washing.
Lastly, one should never apply a car cover to a vehicle that has not been properly cleaned prior to placing the cover on the vehicle. Not only will one introduce micro scratching to the ceramic coating or the actual paint one will also introduce contaminants to the inside of the car covered that will now be applied to the vehicle every time the car cover comes into contact with the vehicle. FYI, many professional detailers are opposed to covers as they are not a great solution.

Black for road and camping trips modified white for track days and more serious road trips.
Just my thoughts ?
Best
Devon Racer.
Sounds great but there's too much overlap for it to make sense keeping both. Coin toss is not a bad idea. I really wish I didn't like the black T so much...
