992 Carrera T Club
[QUOTE=TUD;19335993]My Genuine Porsche 992 lower center trim in leather has arrived. I will post additional pics once installed.
Funny because I got mine yesterday ! I am having trouble removing the original trim piece though. I have watched a couple of videos of people who seem to be able to remove by hand but I haven't had any luck. I am hesitant to use any trim tools for fear of damaging any of the trim edges. Anyways, let me know if you have success with removal and what your technique was. It's a beautiful looking piece (nice smooth leather that matches the seat trim and armrest very well). Not a bad way to spend $300 to improve the interior feel/look.

and it’s the standard lights on the T: I see comments that they are fine, and I have deactivated matrix lights on a Merc so I’m not looking for those, but are the standard lights PDLS? They are listed as “LED” and my dealer didn’t have a good answer. I guess the question is, are they the same as the PDLS+ minus the auto dimming?
Love it and congrats! You got the green deviated stitching, brilliantly done instead of the T package.

@CJDCREW I wish I got the AGM so I could drop an Antigravity, but I'm content with what I got.
@tourenwagen thank you my friend. Super happy with the car's potential.
@Macboy thank you my friend. It's a small detail but I couldn't live without stitching on the wheel and shifter.

Congrats! My Ruby Star Neo is sitting on Siem Aristotle anchored off the coast of Canada because the CN Autorail workers have gone on strike so everything is very slow being offloaded. Argh...

So I guess non-RAS cars get Li batteries too. Your LWB makes up for the extra battery weight 😆

Likewise on R&I, but truthfully I haven’t given it the old college try. I am curious as to how yours was shipped? What was the piece wrapped in?
Edit: Re a removal tool, I have thought about doing the same thing, but have had the same fearful thought as you in regards to potentially damaging surrounding parts that are unremovable. I am rather confident that is exactly what a Porsche would do though.

I'm saving all this weight so I can drop a big amplifier and speakers behind the seats.

I modified the center console in my 911T to add a wireless phone charger: https://www.kaizenlighting.com/992-2...izen_p_63.html
You can see in their install video they are also able to remove the trim piece with their hands. I did not have such luck. Mine was really in there. I ended up buying a kit on Amazon that included some trim removal tools and some plastic spacers that looked like guitar picks:
With the help of the tools the trim piece came right off without incident - no scratches. Would highly recommend both the kit and the wireless MagSafe charger. Like @Wilder I also PPF'd the piano black center console and it makes a huge difference preventing scratches, swirls, and fingerprints. Hope this helps.

The Amazon link is not working on my end.
Never mind, got it.

Yes I listened to many when I had my 991...IPE, AWE, Fabspeed, Cargraphic, all of them and when I heard the Akrapovic I just was like yeah that is the one...that is the sound. My son listened to one and saw a few videos on YouTube and I had actually gotten a deal on a Fabspeed one I think and paid for it and it was about to ship but then my son came into my office and said "dad something you just gotta pay the price for them...and that Akrapovic exhaust is really the one for you so just do it and enjoy the car!" As said didn't look back and loved all 4 yrs with the car and exhaust....so much that with the 992 it was just a given addition. LOL
Actually that’s a great idea thanks. If using ppf (like matte) I can ppf the entire center console including the part toward the front that shows the AC and heat temperatures right?

Hi @Pivot I recall you thinking long the lines of a 4S Targa, but if you hanker a 992.2 then if 4S it will be hybrid according to the rumour channels.
I would either get a 992.1 Targa before you can't or live with what we all know now, it's the sum of it parts that make the T so alluring, and for some to say "it is the best car I've ever owned, In my opinion it's right up there with best regarding engagement out of many cars experienced over my lifetime,
Maybe like in a game of cards its time to Stick?
Best,
Devon Racer.

Exactly right, @Devon Racer
I will wait and see what 992.2 brings us, while I thoroughly enjoy the 992T. Only once I drive the 992.2 I will decide if I hold the 992T indefinitely, or change horses for 992.2 Targa.
I drove 992 Targa 4 and dynamically it was not terribly engaging. Targa is heavier, and perm 4WD, so I would want the 4S model.
Once 992.2 model is out, the new 992.1 will dry-up quickly , so 992.1 Targa will be hard to get, and I don’t want demo or flipper car, as this will be my terminal 911, so run-in procedure is important for me.
Time will tell.
