Here you go. Sun changes the color of Ruby Star Neo so you will see slight variations of it throughout the photos.

That's fine on our 718, not here.
I recall reading somewhere that the plastic dash weighed more than the leather. Is there any technical data that shows the weight of the leather dash versus the plastic dash?

yes, thats one of the reasons I was attracted towards the 992. especially the straight lines of the regular bumpers and the flat dash in the interiors of the 992 who closely resemble the 70-80 generation of cars.

why? because we have one in the garage to give the 992 company! very grateful to have a 87 Carrera as stable mates.

Default How to clean Sport-Tex seats

I love this aspect of the carrera T but wondering how to clean given that this area gets most use and dirt rubbing off pants etc.

I'm sure the difference is insignificant, I had read in some other post that the leather weighed more. Even if so, well worth it IMO now that I've owned it awhile.

It's tough not to touch pants along the edge, while also not sitting on the bolster heavily. It's almost easier with buckets because it takes such a deliberate movement to get out of the seat, but still prone to dirty the pant leg.

Default First drive first thoughts

Picked her up and drove 250km home. Was my first time sitting in a Porsche let alone driving one. To be honest in recent memory I haven’t even stood next to one up close I’ve had a few m4 cabs but never a ‘real’ sports car. I was rushed when speccing the car and was seriously concerned about what I’d done.

my initial impressions:

much smaller than than I thought. My 2024 m4 cab looks like a limousine next to it.

Unexpectedly smooth ride. Not harsh at all. I managed to hit a pothole on the highway at 130km/hr and it wasn’t terrible.

Feels like it’s suctioned to the road. I’ll never even get to 7/10s of what this car can do, I suspect.

no regrets for FAL. Already used it over some construction and on my driveway. Not sure I would have scraped but eased my mind for sure.

no regrets for RAS. The car feels like it could do a 90 degree corner at speed. I don’t know what a 911 without it feels like but I don’t care.

no regrets for 18way adaptive seats. Took a lot of fiddling to get a good position for using the three pedals ( after not having a manual transmission for > 10 years). Then of course there’s a different position for in the city and on the highway. Glad I could program those.

Bose actually sounds pretty good to my ears.

Not sure I’ll really need the 90L tank but seeing 750+km range on a full tank made me giggle.

I’m glad I have the turn key ignition and the analog tach. They make the car feel even more special from where i sit.

I do not regret the rear seat delete. Or the slick
roof. I love the lather interior. I did a lot of alcantara on the headliner etc and it looks great.

I like the folding mirrors and surround view. Lane change assist as well. I’m glad I did not get the lane keep assist. The only one moving the steering wheel is me.

I had wondered if i would regret deleting the model designation but i really really like the clean look on the rear. And iI’m not sure why the YouTube guy was so upset about the stock rear fascia. It looks and feels great to me.

thanks

Just to clarify the side skirts issue. If you option the SportDesign Package or the Aerokit, Porsche recommends you also pay another $1300 or so to have the side skirts painted (purely cosmetic). But, like many others, I have never done this for two reasons. First (subjective), I think the car looks better with them in matte black and not painted to exterior color. If you look at any SDP or Aero 992, the unpainted side skirts match the lower trim on the rear fascia, giving the car a more consistent look from the side or back. Second (objective), this area is invariably subject to a lot of road debris (stones, gravel, etc.) so if you do get them painted, I would double PPF them. Like I've said before, sometimes the best option is the stock (no-cost) option.

I share in your observations about added aero in and around the bottom of the car. I left the front lip on our build unpainted and didn't opt for the SD side skirts. Sometimes added (color-matched) blades, bobs, and such can make a 'base car' look like its trying too hard (the RS is another matter tho!). GT3 side skirts are tempting but I'm looking forward to putting my foot to the ground without worry ... mind on other things.

Thanks on the nice comments.

OEM, unfortunately not. The factory one only comes in three colors found here: https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/SKU992RFST.html

I worked with Stripe Garage and had him try to match it to the same as the factory decal on the doors for the Carrera T found here: https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/sku992tdecal.html.

Stripe Garage = https://stripegarage.com/collections.../center-stripe

Someone posted this online a in 2023, which helped a lot! It's not a 100% match, but close enough at a distance.

Got some time today to take some interior shots.

Really enjoying the car so far. Looking forward to a nice scenic drive on the weekend.
