Hey folks! Been enjoying my life with the Carrera T for the past few weeks so much that I figured I should invest in a radar detector. I got a Uniden R8 which just arrived in the mail.... and I realized I have no idea how to install it.
I haven't wanted to hardwire the system, but am starting to realize it might be difficult not to. What have people done? Blendmount seems like an option? Has anyone just plugged it in and gotten on with it?
Would love to hear all of your thoughts!!

On Sunday I picked up the T from my dealer in Central California. I then went on a 230+ mile drive from the dealer to home in Northern California getting a mix of highway and b-roads (Hwy 25 and 198) and passing by Pinnacles National Park (route). Even keeping under 4K RPM (for break-in), the car is a lot of fun to drive and allowed me to be a bit of a hooligan when no one was around.
Dealer experience was great! They purchased and installed clear side marker lights and installed radiator grills for me. The radiator grills I got were from Rennline (link) which require the bumper to come off and cannot be seen easily from the outside. They didn't charge me for labor and I only had to purchase and ship the grills to them. Overall I highly recommend Porsche San Luis Obispo for anyone considering a new/used Porsche.

Ocean blue metallic (can't fine ocean 'sea' blue?) is nice - also consider Albert blue. It is non metallic but very classy. Since you are considering more loud colors like lighter green, also think about the oranges. Personally I love bahama tellow, signal yellow (both look orange to me), and pastel orange. Not sure why a classic like signal orange isn't there...

@Wilder
It's always good to see pictures of your travel and your beautiful T! I hope the drives in Arizona and Cali were a blast!
Also, I am not going to lie, the new avatar photo, of the green 911, looks amazing but keeps messing with me 😂 I keep expecting the other photo 😂

The T interior package in leather lists "Upper section of the dashboard with stitching in Slate Grey" in leather. Does that mean that if I add the "Extended Dashboard in Leather" package, I'd be overpaying or double/paying because its already in the T interior leather package?
I agree that one should keep to the running in instructions, but I think Wilder is correct in that you need to increase the revs over time and not go from 4000 rpm only to 7,500 rpm without incremental increases, between these rev bands, so from 1000 miles I will start to increase the revs to 5,000 / 5,500 rpm.

@Vernin Still in CA and starting a 2.5 week roadtrip on the 14th. Very much looking forward to it. Thanks for the compliments on the ST. That car should be done this summer. Can't wait!
@Macboy Fully agree. The stripes are fire! If I didn't like Sportex so much, I'd get the stripes. Regarding the avatar, I can't go back, sorry. All I want to do is look at the new baby. It's even on my phone.

Was not approved for PTS (I wanted Acid Green). I ended up with a equally polarizing Ruby Star Neo with Black/Racing Yellow stitching and a LOT of options... (many of them are Exclusive Manufacture) so I'm guessing that pushed it out a few times.

if you search Ice Grey Carrera T in YouTube you’ll see a short with that exact color combo. It looks great! I ended up doing the slate grey interior package because I didn’t want that much green but it was definitely stunning.
