anyone have any issues with Apple CarPlay not working ? I can make calls but navigation doesn’t work anymore
I have had a few weird things with CarPlay. It usually won’t connect unless I unlock my phone…which I don’t have to do with other cars. And then yesterday I was driving along streaming Spotify and the music started skipping. Then CarPlay dropped entirely. I went into the CarPlay settings on my phone and forced a reconnect…then all was fine. Odd.

ya know what’s funny , when i went to the dealership 10 min away from my house I put my quicksilver card down to use for the 1k down to get on wait list . 4-5 weeks went by and he never swiped it than I decided to go else where and went alll the way to Pittsburgh Porsche where they had an available allocation . Maybe I’m nuts but I think me using the quicksilver card the salesrep didn’t take me seriously
Something similar happened to me. Before allocations went all crazy, back in 2021 I went to buy my Cayman S. My local dealership had an allocation. I walked in to order the car, gave my card so they can take $5000 deposits. 2 weeks went buy, nothing. I called them, canceled and went to another dealership who took care of everything the same day. I couldn’t help myself but to think that the guy didn’t take me seriously because I’m probably below the average age of your typical Porsche buyer. (I also mostly shop for clothes at Costco and Target and don’t wear fancy watches or jewelry, and had grown a pretty large beard at that point. Definitely did not look the part lol)

My T in PPF jail.
Doing full frontal, mirrors, rockers and extra hip protection plus ceramic coating on the wheels. GT3 side skirts and clear makers will be going in as well.

I understand your pain. Them not taking you seriously for your age and clothes I completely understand. I also buy my business casual and street casual regular clothes at Costco but wear my work clothes when I go into the Porsche Dealerships, but because I am young they definitely did not take me seriously but I cannot exactly fault them too much for how all that would sound to a sales rep. But it still needles me a little, that only one sales rep took me seriously. But hey they have a nice highly spec'd out car they get a cut on. So it works out.
I was originally trying to buy a 996 GT3 from Porsche North Olmstead, (they are amazing by the way) I also asked them if they had an allocation for a T but unfortunately all the allocations for the year had been designated, to VIPs in Porsche's normal buyer circle.
Some know the story already, but I went to 3 different Dealerships, asking for a T allocation, and one took me seriously. I am young, I am 21 and just turned on June 28th but I work in a professional setting, and in the Dealerships, I went to I always was groomed, and dressed appropriately in a button-down, dress pants, leather dress shoes, and even still Porsche Las Vegas, said they would get me an allocation, never called. Porsche Scottsdale, I went in as well, asking for an allocation, they said they would call, but never did (I had been in talks with multiple dealerships since January of last year, then again in August - December of last year.) Then finally Porsche Albuquerque took me seriously, I put my 5k down, and I get a car delivered this month. (it has been an 8-month-long wait.) But worth the hassle
The S maybe, just as was done on the 991.2 T? And in this case I thought someone did the research and found it is the same final drive and ratios as the S manual. I need @ECNJ to chime in with the big brain!
Sorry for slow response. But I think u fellas sorted it already. My job is deal based so sometimes really busy at work…other times good for 2 hour lunch pickups in my T
Here are some powertrain and drivetrain specs for the 992 T (Euro version…,assuming US is same/similar for these items). The tech behind the motor is nothing crazy, but I love how German engines feel so capable (like my Benz). Also the sensation of having rear engine pulling is a really special feeling. My understanding T & S MT have same gear ratios. Regarding 7,500 rpm redline…wished it was 8K+, although doesn’t have to be 9K like GT3. Want to wind it just a bit more. One thing I thought would be better is how the 16.9 gallon tank feels like it’s only 10 based on how often I have to gas up. Maybe it’s due to going full send so often?! May need to replace my cooling fans (working OT) soon.
PSA: I spoke with the Service Dept at Porsche Buffalo this morning. They have just received a TSB from Porsche advising of the lightweight glass breaking or being defective. Glass is ordered, just waiting for the call to install it next. I'll keep you posted.
Sorry to hear about the glass issue. Hopefully, this will be resolved for you in a timely manner. If possible, could you post up a copy of the TSB or at least let us know what the number is? Thanks!
I have the first in the world pictures of a Carmine red 992 T which is for sale in Rotterdam for over a month. Since they refuse to post pictures in their add I went there myself today. Looked like the GR from a distance. The car really needs to be in natural light to come through. But these pictures give a nice first impression hopefully.

Good idea. I’m concerned the Bass in my T is gonna crack some glass one day.
