Looks like this EPA ordeal is not unique to Porsche.
This is what it looks like.... # of models certified as of 10/2020
BMW, 75 (2021) 128 (2020)
Benz, 48, (2021) 115 (2020)

GM 185 (2021) 257 (2020)
FCA 69 (2021) 138 (2020)

Honestly, I've surprised myself with how patient I've been. I mentally prepared myself once I heard of a potential hold-up because I've seen this so many times with other cars. Not even remotely news-worthy yet.
i do feel bad for those that live in a colder climate and aren't able to enjoy their car during the winter. Just another reason to live somewhere warmer!

The Evaporative Emissions (HC) check is for the entire vehicle. That includes the paint, tires, interior, etc., etc., etc. It's called the "Shed Test". Then the eMPG is also calculated as a part of the certification process.

I guess the fact that it is the entire Porsche lineup that s being held up makes it more likely that it was purely an administrative issue with Porsche and not a real issue with the cars and especially not an issue with the 992.
A Macan, Boxster GT4 and 992 have almost zero connection to each other. Hey the Macan base does not even use a Porsche engine. Hopefully the paperwork for all is now filed and the next available release date is 11/6

I'm being told that my 2021 Spyder will be sitting at the port until early Dec. (it has been there since the first week of Oct.). So I will most likely not take delivery until mid-December, missing this entire driving season. (I have no intention of putting snow tires on that car, ever.) Incredibly frustrating.

I don't know. There may be different dates for different models. Again, mine is a 2021 718 Spyder. Most of this discussion has been about 911s. As of two weeks ago, I was also told that no 2021 models, at all, have been delivered to customers.

My "Production Complete" date just got pushed back from 10/16 to 10/30 so apparently there are delays in the factory as well. I had no options that I can think (e.g., sportdesign kit, PTS, factory PPF, etc.) that might cause an additional delay.

We are disappointed about the delivery date...we are hoping it is inside in San Diego as the ocean air is not conducive to cars sitting outside. At least we do not have to worry about driving it once it does arrive as we are just coming into the best weather of the year for us in Palm Springs area.

Wish some of the dealer folks who frequent Rennlist would chime in. Even if they don’t have any insight, atleast they have experience with EPA/CARB delays. If my car is delayed, it is what it is. It’s going into hibernation from December until March anyway since I have no intention of driving it in the winter. I was just hoping I’d have some time to enjoy this 50+ degree weather in New England before it turns to **** after Thanksgiving.

My SA let me know the 21 cayenne got its clearance on the 15th which was the expected date so hopefully some reason for optimism.
