Thanks! Just passing along what I've learned by doing this too many times (!) and from my sales manager, who understands the process very well and is willing to share details openly. Last few I had come through completed port processing within a day of arrival - last one (Cayenne) was processed and "ready for transport" the same day it was offloaded. At this point I think the best you can do is watch TYD and if your 'port processing' is not complete within a couple of days of coming off the ship, check with your dealership and see if they can get any specifics. Until then, hope for the best.

I just spoke to my general manager today and he said he wasn’t sure why but it seemed like 911s aren’t as impacted as other Porsches getting built. He also told me that they have been using an alternate supplier for tpms so there shouldn’t be a problem in port now.

I forgot to mention that he also said that some cars are being delivered without power adjustable steering column due to the chip shortage. So what they are doing is adjusting the steering wheel for the owner upon delivery and it’s stuck there until a chip comes in….that would suck.

I think those with the adjustable power steering column would be mighty displeased with that.

My car has been in San Diego for a month. Awaiting the TPMS chip and the Steering Column fix. TYD says I have another week. WTF😕

They've been prioritizing the 911 and Taycan lines to keep them going as well as possible but obviously there have still been delays. The TPMS shortage has been hit and miss, but still some misses lately so when he says there "shouldn't" be a problem he has a decent chance of being correct, but you're not going to know for sure until your car gets to port. Macan and Cayenne production has been shut down for a while which must be helping to keep others going. My sister has a Macan 'in process' but it was caught up in this production stop. Her car went into production April 20, and the tracking sheet shows it exiting production July 30(!). So some delay is still possible, but it could be worse....

Almost 3 weeks in Emden now. No one knows why. Super frustrating.

Sounds like lousy timing. If yours is coming in to Davisville for some reason it didn't get on the Goodwood, which recently left Emden. The next one in is the Siem Plato, which right now is estimated in to Emden on the 19th of June. That's a long wait, but should definitely be getting on that one.

I'm heading to Baltimore and thought the Felicity Ace was my ship. No dice. Hoping for the Mediterranean Highway, which was supposed to be load ready a few days ago. No idea what's going on. 😞

Ouch - that sucks. The Mediterranean Highway looks like it's on a BMW run right now - from Charleston, SC to Bremerhaven - and is due into Bremerhaven on June 16th. Whether it goes from there over to Emden to get back on a VW schedule is anyone's guess at this point. They have been moving ships around a bit lately and the shipping schedules have not been updated as frequently as they used to. I suspect all the supply chain impacts on the factories is also creating chaos for the logistics operators. Check fleetmon or MarineTraffic if you want to keep tabs on the Med Hwy. Hopefully there will be an updated shipping schedule posted soon.

My 911 arrived with everything working, including the power steering column. There were no TPMS issues either. The build date was early April.

That’s great news, congrats. hopefully that means those of us in NY/NJ won’t have any problems at the port and should be arriving at the dealer in the next day or so. My TYD is still on Port Processing.

Seim Plato appears to be ~5 days behind schedule which could work out nicely for me. I need a ship with a Houston destination.

Default Updated Shipping Schedule

Attached is a new shipping schedule from PWL - not sure what the designations in red mean and it does appear that the departure date from Emden for the Mediterranean Hwy should say 06/18-19 as opposed to 07/18-19. Hasn't been posted to their website yet.
