My C2S arrived at Emden Port on April 22. However, the "on vessel" date is not until May 14. Why does the car need to sit at the port for 22 days? Are there so few ships headed for Baltimore that my car has to be parked at Emden for the better part of a month?

TYD and the PSVM system put in a 3 week wait at Emden by default, and always list the Friday of the week for the exact date. So don't bank on that as being accurate at all. From what I can see, the Siem Confucius is the next vessel due in to Emden that will stop in Baltimore. It is currently at Davisville, RI (arrived from Jacksonville today), and will then be on its way back to Emden. According to the shipping schedule, it will be ready to depart Emden around May 5 or 6 for the US, which seems about right. Your 911 will likely be on that ship with arrival in Baltimore estimated as May 21st.

Out of curiosity (and for the board), for those cars being delivered to the PEC in Atlanta, where do they unload them?

You know, thank you so much. This is actually one of the most helpful responses I've ever read on Rennlist; factual, informed, to the point, and not full of biased opinion. Much appreciated.

There are few people here more knowledgeable than @dgtarga - in fact, most of what I spew on here, I was taught by him!
Then again, the guy seems to order new Porsches for breakfast, so it makes sense he knows his stuff.
I have on order a '22 911 S. Delivery is tentative at this point for September, though dealer has already mentioned it my slip into October. Reasonably well appointed. went with Agate/Black. Traded my '19 back to dealer after 11 months of ownership this past week. Trying to figure out "track my porsche". Not quite sure I understand how to do that yet.

so based on that pdf there are May 18, May 31, and June 9 arrival dates in Houston, depending on which ship it makes it on. Production completed Friday so I’m guessing it could be loaded on a ship within the next week.
The first of those 3 loads is Tues/Wed so that seems unlikely as it has not transported. The next loads May 10/11? And the last loads the 17/18. It appears that TYD updated me to the middle one from the last as my expected dates all jumped by a week when production finished a week early.

The published schedules are just approximations and are not updated regularly. You can get a better idea of what's happening with those potential ships by looking them up on fleetmon.com or marinetraffic.com. For example, the Siem Plato has an ETA into Emden of April 28th. There's an outside chance you could make that ship if your 911 is on its way to Emden now. TYD will show the name of your ship once your car's been assigned. If not you'll very likely be on the Siem Cicero, but will have a bit of a wait for that one which is currently in Baltimore.
I bid goodbye to all who remain in the waiting room, it’s been a blast!
Here is my timeline......Placed my deposit in Dec 2020 received my commission number same day, my C2S 7spd manual Love this pic Don’t know what to do about the front plate? Taking delivery Could not resist this photo op, love GT Silver
was born on March 4, caught a ride on a vessel on March 27, arrived at port on April 9 and arrived at my dealer April 16. I picked it up on April 23.
I know, was hoping it would be ahead of schedule because I’m planning a family weekend vacation in west palm where I’m picking up the car for this weekend. Not going to buy the tickets until it’s on a truck to dealer, though, so may not work out.
