It's getting exciting now. Just off the truck from San Diego. Taking delivery Saturday afternoon. Just like I always talked to my kids "two more sleeps" and I'll be driving it. Happy New year everyone!!
Signed the documents yesterday, and my car will be sent to the ppf/ceramic/tint next week. I was really impressed how fast the car was taken from the port to the dealership; it arrived on 12/26, and got to the dealership on 12/28.

Congrats, I pick mine up tomorrow. I also chose Chalk which I think is a great look. My trim is a Targa so I have lots of black bits that really look great. I also chose the Black/Bordeaux interior which would have been a surprise for me to do a few years ago but my GTS that I sold in October had black and I wanted to change it up some. Enjoy your car, be safe and stay healthy.
Happy New Year!
Porsche has got it right.
Allowing buyers to custom build their cars, choosing the colors and options they like the best. I will pick up the 12th Porsche I've owned tomorrow. I'm buying my first Targa (I know some of you hate Targas and think they are terrible, top heavy, rattle machines, with horrible future mechanical failures). I chose the PDK (I know many prefer manual, because it's not a sports car unless you have 3 pedals), I picked the color Chalk (it's not a color, it's a primer. looks like concrete). I also got the premium package (can't even get full use from the Matrix headlights in the U.S.) With many other options that some of you love and the rest of you hate. The bottom line is I ordered what I wanted based on my previous experiences with these fine, fun cars. Like all of you there are several Porsche colors I wouldn't own, and I'm so over using a manual transmission from earlier vehicles I can't go there. Plus the PDK is just so great.
The bottom line is what a great way to buy a car, get exactly what you want and nothing you don't. Congrats to all of the new Porsche owners, no matter what color you chose. And everyone have the Happiest of New Years.

Love this. Have a similar sentiment and have built a very similar Targa for my first Porsche. The configurator was/is fun and the forums have been a blast. I've had many makes and models over my sports car journey, starting with an early Honda S2000 (had a go-kart when I was 12 that handled the same!). I chose the Targa as I am attempting to combine 3 cars I owned at the start of COVID into a single fun daily for when we get done with this $#!*%. BMW 3 (daily)/Jag F-Type SVR convertible (top-down driver) / McLaren 720. Targa seemed like the perfect car. Build freezes on Jan. 4, still have some wait time before it shows up at the dealer, but it's getting exciting. Happy New Year to everyone and I look forward to seeing some pics of all the new 992s landing now.
