my experience is they hit the dealer inventory once released from the port of entry. Usually once they are on the truck to their destination.

I read that the matrix lights are not fully functional in the US. I decided not to include them in my build.

I am torn between the 4S and the S. I see you are in PA - will the car stay home in inclement weather?

Meaning cars equipped with the matrix lights may not be released for entry?
I'll use the C2S for most of the year except in snow. That's when I get the Macan out

PLL8LNR8. I have a 2018 Macan GTS. 16K miles, less than a year old and really enjoying the ride. Can’t decide whether to get a 911 now or wait a year.

My understanding is that you will not benefit from the full functionality of the matrix lights in the US.

Wow, nice build! I see you got the film protection too.
I think if I could go back I would waIt a year. Handed over my 2018 991.2 graphite blue C2 with 8K miles. Great car. Now I'm locked in...

So for North America, are there still allocations left out there for 992 that are not locked do you know? Or if you wanted one now you’d be waiting until next round in 2020 vs summer delivery.

I just stopped by my dealer in Los Angeles today to finalize my order preferences before my production freeze date later this month, and I asked him about how many allocations they currently had available.
His answer was "None right now". Apparently anyone placing an order in Los Angeles right now will be looking at a minimum 9 month wait.

I placed my order for a C2S back at the end of February. As of now my delivery date is set for September 13th.

Apparently I got 1 of only 20 allocations that this particular dealer received so far. He also claims they get the most allocations of any dealer in N.A. (Take that with a grain of salt.)

Going to be ordering in August - so let's hope that "9 month wait" is just some salesman BS. Luckily I have 2 dealerships in town and am not in any particular rush to order....
Then again, if there happens to be a 2019 C2S or C4S with a good spec sitting on a lot somewhere - I'm definitely not opposed to just snagging that up for a nice discount

I just checked with Rusnak in Thousand Oaks,Ca and my SA said they have Allocations for June with Sept delivery if there are not lengthy EPA/CARB delays.

Yea well, I wont be ordering until at least August (earliest delivery I can take is November - which is snow tire season in Cleveland) - so I'm betting I'll be plenty fine for EPA/CARB by that point.
Maybe they'll be able to throw in a set of Porsche winter wheels/tires in lieu of a discount (or in addition to )

Default Help with order updates

Apologies if this isn't the correct forum for this...this is my first post.

I ordered a 992 C2S back in January. I've inquired about order updates with the dealership I ordered from by phone, text, and email and have yet to receive a reply. It's now May. The person who took my order is the manager of the dealership. I've also tried the head of sales, and left messages with the receptionists for anyone to call me back. Is this standard Porsche operating procedure? In contrast, I just took delivery on a new Mercedes that cost $80k less than my 992 and the customer service experience was exceptional. Maybe I'm being naive, but I had assumed that a $160k car would at least come with a minimal amount of follow-up communication about the order.

I finally called the 1-800 PCNA customer service number and they were able to give me a date of manufacture in April and a delivery date in July, but they said the dealership should be communicating with me and offered to call them and tell them to contact me about my order. That was over a month ago and I still haven't been contacted.

This is my first Porsche order. Is it normal to be ignored by the Porsche dealer you ordered from? How do I find out any other information? I have very practical questions including, "What is the estimated delivery date?" and "When and where do I pay for it?"

Here's my build:

Yes - it is normal to be ignored by a Porsche dealer. Don’t take it personally!

Last year when I bought my macan GTS, the dealer took a 5K deposit and called me back a few days later to return my deposit because he had someone else lined up for the allocation. I felt that Porsche is selling cars on Walmart scale, but it’s dealers live in a business model from an era bygone.
