Same. Was a loyal 5 series user for multiple cars and years, moved to E class Mercedes, never looked back. I was getting tired of the brand, then the dealer screwed me and that was the final straw.
Count 1 more BMW to Porsche convert. My current daily driver is a 2013 335i Cab (E93). Coincidentally, that was last year you could get a 3-series with a manual transmission. Am I the problem? Every time I buy a new stick-shift do they discontinue the manuals immediately after?

I feel Converts the wrong word. Progression fits better. I'd say a solid number of BMW and Audi drivers progress to the 911.

Pledge their allegiance is more like it haha. On a similar note, I wish Porsche would use Audi's perforated leather look in their 911's. I love that texture and it adds some interest and racing feel to the interior without slapping a bunch of unsightly color options inside the cabin (which many people do unfortunately). Good thing Exclusive Option can make it happen, though would be nice OEM too.
How long is taking to get cars out of Benecia these days? My Turbo S arrived there this morning, aboard the Freesia Leader.
My targa 4s just arrived on the same boat. 2 years ago, my Taycan took about 3 days to exit Benecia. I'm hoping for similar results again...if anyone else here has more recent info, do spill
Looks like I am not only who has come to the dark side.
Long time BMW owner as well, and I also had to sold my e39 M5 (owned for 19 years) to make room for the 992.1 C2T . (no point storing it at car storage place, and ends up not driving it)
My car has been at Emden for over 5mo now (due to needing a chip swap) and just yesterday the date to leave Emden shifted from 6/27 to 7/9. Anyone else with a similar delay? This car is going to San Diego

That is just crazy, can’t think of a possible reasonable excuse for that! Your SA has no answers?

No real explanation other than waiting for parts that didn't contain banned chips. I shouldn't be the only one who was impacted by this, so I'm curious how others who needed a chip swap at around the same time are faring

What chip delay is holding this up...This doesn't make any sense...that chip issue was late 2023, wasn't it?
I'd bet thousands of 992's have been produced, shipped and delivered to customers since yours was delivered to Emden.

Based on the articles I saw, I believe it impacted cars produced at the end of 2023/early 2024. My car must have been impacted by the tail end of it and held since mid-Jan. Other cars might have been held at US ports, and I wonder if those cars got higher priority for the chip swap.

Yeah, from what I've read...that shortage has been solved for a while.
At some point the dealer should have just offered another build...especially when they started seeing completed cars built after yours being delivered.
Personally...don't know if I would accept a car that's been sitting at the port for 6 months. Just the salt exposure alone would be an issue for me.
Hope it makes it on a ship soon
