Official waiting room for those with a new 992 on order --- come on in !!
I got mine 3 weeks early, delivered to the Maryland port. The car is amazing; I want to sleep in it lol. Picture of me and the C4S in dealer showroom before I drove it away into the sunset and many good times ahead.

I'm confused with the shipping route of the vessel my car is on.
It left Emden on 6/20 with a 7/15 arrival date to its delivery port on the West coast. This was great news since the car finished 5 days early and made it from the factory to getting loaded on a ship in 5 days...I was super impressed.
Was is the key word.... Found out my ships route is not through the normal Panama Canal, but through the Magellan straits at the southern tip of South America...WTF!
Instead of being close to the Caribbeans after 8 days of leaving Emden....it's actually sailing down the coast of Africa. I guess making its way towards the Magellan strait.
Two other ships left after mine headed for the same West Coast port...one left on 6/24 and is scheduled to be in its delivery port on 7/24... a 30-day trip with the other ship leaving 6/27 and scheduled to be in port on 7/30...a 33-day trip. Both of these are going through the Panama Canal.
TYD is no help...it hasn't been updated since the 6/20 departure and the route map is showing the normal Panama route, but actual tracking of the ship shows otherwise.
My ship.... scheduled to be in its delivery port....8/10...51 days on the water!
This just sounds crazy, especially when other ships with the same destination are making it in 3-4 weeks.
Now it's a brand-new ship...is it possible it's too big when fully loaded to go through the Panama Canal?
I find it hard to believe that Porsche just drops off the car and lets the shipping company determine when and how it get to the final destinations...but stranger things have happened.
Now maybe I'm overreacting .... with the last ships position being 24 hours old, it could still lake a right turn and head for Panama, but that wouldn't be the normal shipping route for these ships.
Fingers crossed!

HI all. Have a GTS that just got completed and is supposed to be loaded on to a ship anytime between 6/29 and 7/2. It's currenlty saying it will arrive at my dealer in Fresno, CA around 9/23. How accurate is that? I live in San Diego, so planning on flying up there with my younger son, 17 years old, and we both drive it down together. Mom lives in Bakersfield, so we will stay the night there and visit her. He can drive stick,so it will be a great bonding time with him.

My car was completed 6/15, driven to the port and loaded onto a ship by 6/20 for a West coast delivery. That was super-fast compared to some of the other postings.
Thats only part the battle....it also depends on the ships route.
The normal route is through the Panama Canal and usually takes 4-5 weeks, but in my case the ship I'm on for some reason is not passing through the Panama Canal...it's actually going through the Magellan straight (around the southern tip of South America). This will add another 14-18 days to the trip.
My car was scheduled for a San Diego delivery on July 15, but according to the shipping company it will be around August 10.
Looking at some of the ships departing in early July, you should receive yours no later than the middle of August if passing through the Panama Canal.
Do you know which west coast port it will be delivered to.... it's either Benicia or San Diego I believe.
