Perhaps just being paranoid but how on top of the process do I need to be at this point now that my build for the c2s is frozen with my spec, could the dealer sell mine to someone else etc?
My SA can get me a GTS allocation, Delivery August or September.
Do you think I should still go for 992 or wait for the new model to be released?
Either way you’re going to be receiving a 992. MY24 = 992.1, MY25 will be 992.2. Many unknowns about the dot two, but more than likely 48v mild hybridization and no manual transmission.

Only you can really answer that question. Will you be happy with the current model with all it offers? If so, then jump on the allocation as they will be even more difficult to get when the new 992.2 comes out.
Keep in mind that the new 992.2 will be a big difference. Sounds like it will be a different engine, mild hybrid, and front air intake changes. It most likely will also carry a higher price tag. Maybe 10% - 20% price increase. Of course this is all speculation as the final specs have not been officially announced.
I just exchanged my March 2024 build allocation with a June 2024 build allocation in order to get the Exclusive Manufaktur Leather Interior that I wanted.
Porsche had a stop sale on the Exclusive Manufaktur Leather Interior option for 911's with allocation "Fixed Dates" through Feb 2024. My March build had a fixed or Lock date of Feb 06, 2024 and thus my build was rejected by the factory.
Fortunately, my dealer had an open allocation with a fixed or lock date in May 2024, and we applied my build spec to that allocation and it was accepted. So I wait 2 additional months to get the interior that I would like!! I've chosen the Exclusive Manufaktur Leather Interior, Two Tone in Black over Cohiba Brown, which looks much lighter in person than what the configurator shows, and goes well with the Gentian Blue exterior......
I went to "Track Your Dream" and clicked on "more details about the vehicle". My ordered car is a base Carrera. The list of the options I had selected was correct, but then this list of items under "others" appeared.
I don't understand this - anyone else see anything like this? (or has TYD lost its mind)

I don't see an 'Others' section when I view TYD under My Porsche, either. I see Optional Equipment and Technical Data sections only. BTW, it's interesting that in the Optional Equipment, they don't provide the choice of interior package (leather, color, etc.).
My TYD also doesn't show the colour. I can somewhat tell from the generated image, but the * says it may not be accurate.
Anyone else able to see the colour of the car in TYD?

I see my car’s color in TYD.
When my SA updated my build, my change did not reflect in TYD for a while. (This was of course before my freeze date).

I think what CurryPuff is referring to is that under Optional Equipment, it doesn't list the chosen exterior color (plus my feedback that it doesn't list the interior seating selection). For exterior and seating options, it's only in the visual rendering on TYD. Just very strange that Porsche list a majority of the options but not key ones like exterior and interior seating colors even though you know they have that data.
One other strange thing about TYD. On the web version, it has all the milestone dates through delivery. But when I pull up TYD on My Porsche mobile app, the dates only go out to the current stage. The remaining milestones say "To be scheduled" even though the dates are available in the web version.
As others have said, TYD still leaves much to be desired. But it's better than in the past when you had to call your salesperson weekly to ask for status.
For those of you on the Glovis Comet (@Aperture776 , @Jeff Whitten , maybe @Vinch and any others), put together a quick time lapse of the ship transiting the Pedro Miguel and Miraflores locks this morning, before heading out to the Pacific. Wanted to get her entering the canal, but missed it while out on a run.
Figured I'd share in case anyone was interested - proof she's real and on her way!!
