Call your sales guy at your Porsche dealership. If your car made it on a boat, it’s a 100% fact that they know exactly what the name of it is. Having said that the Siem Cicero just left Baltimore this morning. They dropped my car off there. It’s on its way to Jacksonville now.
Don’t mean to be the bearer of bad news but step 8 is fairly accurate. Meaning if you are stuck on step 7, that means your car hasn’t left Emden yet. Once it arrives stateside your dealer will have more accurate info than TYD.
My car sat at port for over a month and others have experienced the same delays.
Delays seem to be a bit more common than in months past.
When I take delivery next week, my vehicle will be delayed almost exactly a month from the original ETA. Production was ahead of schedule, it was the port where things slowed down.

No worries brother. We all feel the same way. If this helps I know that the Siem Confucius is on its way to Emden. That’s probably the next ship picking up cars going back to Baltimore. Follow that one. It’s scheduled to be there August 19.

Did your app show its on the way to dealer? My TTS is on the same ship but the app still shows it’s at the port. I have read above (I think) that some customers got a call from the dealer while the app shows it’s at the port! My car goes to Chicago then ships to Sarasota

Or you took some other woman? It’s okay, you can tell us. We’re all good with secrets.

Do the cars have to clear customs before TYD updates to step 9? My car has been off the boat in Houston for about 48 hours, but no update. I’m not worried, just thought someone with past experience might have insight.

Looks like the ship is not docking in Davisport RI? Looks like Ny?NJ?

Yes, customs will clear all cars and sometimes it might take over a week it all depends on which Port and how many cars they have.

Dealership is about 3 hour drive from me. Expecting delivery of a 992 GTS soon. What would I miss out on if I had it shipped to my door instead of taking delivery at the dealership -- is the worth the one way flight and 3 hour drive back?

I would personally go to the dealer to assure myself I am getting exactly what I’ve ordered, inspect it all and test drive it before I give them my check. That of course is only my opinion, plus you get to drive it back, it would be fun.

I didn’t let my dealer touch my car much, they did have to do a few inspection pieces, but it wasn’t detailed or cleaned etc. I then enclosed trailered it to my PPF guy, so it didn’t get driven and was kind of messy after the trip from Europe. So the dealer experience wasn’t exciting for me in that sense. I can see wanting to go and make sure the car is what you actually ordered though. Part of the reason I opted out of the Atlanta pickup was I didn’t want to drive it home without the detail / ppf.

TYD ETA on step 10 (Your Porsche is en route to your Porsche dealer) moved from 8/13/23 to mid-June (2 months ago?) to 8/28/23 this morning. Anyone else with a car that landed at Benicia within the last couple of weeks have this experience?

A long way to go, but order placed for 992 GTS, lock date 9/13, build starts 10/11, delivery 11/21. Anticipating unforeseen delays along the way, but beyond excited. Still doesn't feel real - spent 35+ years thinking about 911s.

Seems my car has been sitting at Emden since 7/27, so coming on 3 weeks now with no update. Local SA does not have any more info, and just called customer service at Porsche North America and they say they don’t know anything more than what is in TYD.
I have read that some folks have gotten through to a Porsche North America rep with more specific information and even had their car prioritized for loading on the ship……can somebody provide the contact info and exactly how they were able to get more information and prioritize their vehicle?
