To increase revenues, Porsche has to increase the supply of its desirable (GT) cars, and get core Customers back on board. All the while, there appears to more cars on the ground Dealers withheld from core Customers - in the hopes of outsized gains.

I agree with the sentiment, if you want to pay ADM then pay it. But it gets you nothing of value. The value to the Dealership is that they get to tag you as a "sucker" for all future transactions - those are the relationships they want and seek!

The "economic" fix to all of this is simple (if legal?). Just like it does with its Used cars, Porsche should auction off New allocations to its Dealers and let the chips (and ADM) fall where they may.

The value you get for paying an ADM is to get the car now. Which, depending on your life circumstances may be of rather significant value.

So if you wait, you’ll get it at MSRP?

Seems like RL been saying MSRP next quarter because xyz since Covid.

Think most of this analysis obvious to the most casual observer that has been following these cars. Is there a nugget that can be brought to a dealer to reduce the bite?

Sympathies for the poor soul waiting for a 991.2 Touring at MSRP…

My 2024 GT3 with a track build was $207K MSRP. My 2025 3RS with a nice build was $276K MSRP. Those prices are reasonable IMO and no way a 992.2 GT3 is worth as much as the 3RS.
didn’t you say you bought multiple cars from this dealer? In which case you already paid the ADM implicitly

You can think of it that way if you want, but I never paid over MSRP, got non-GT new cars below MSRP, got used cars at good prices, got good values on trade ins, and never bought a car I didn't want. At an MSRP dealer, the in-demand GT cars will always go to the higher volume customers and you can't cut the line by paying ADM.

That's been my point all along.

The mantra that "if you wait, you'll get the car at MSRP" has always been bandied about, but it rarely is ever true.

Sure, you might be able to get a 991.2 GT3 at MSRP, but we're talking almost 10 years after the fact.

Ii'd rather have the car now and pay an ADM, than wait 10 years and get the car at MSRP and save the ADM.

As I've said before and will say again. I can always make more money. Time? Not so much.

Do what you want with your money, but you don't need me to tell you that!

You get to assign your value, but no one else's.

I think there’s a-lot of folks on this forum, whose careers and income has progressed quite a bit over the last 4 years. You’re finally in a good financial spot to be able to spend $200-250k on a fun car, but it’s no longer a possibility to order a new GT3 for that kind of money. So you’re upset. Maybe you weren’t in a financial position to order a new GT3 in 2022. I personally was not.

It seems a lot of people want to be able to buy cars at the prices they were at in 2022. Ask yourself this question…. Would you trade your 2026 income for 2022 level income? The odds are, your income has gone up with the market… and the price of these cars has moved up as well.

These cars are worth every penny at MSRP today. If you don’t agree, then don’t buy the car.. The ADM factor comes into play mostly due to supply and demand. If there’s 100 people willing to order a GT3 at MSRP, and the dealership only gets 20 slots for the year… how do you solve this? You take care of some of your best clients who continuously support your dealership, and you sell some of the cars with an ADM which brings supply and demand closer in line.

I agree with you.

I was not in the position to buy one a few years ago, not only because of income and disposable money, but also because I had no relationship with a dealer. What happened in the last few years is that I was able to make a decent amount in the market (non 401k money) and also my income went up. I kept saving and the stocks kept going up. I also bought and sold back a couple of Porsches to the dealer on which I basically lost nothing significant. Now, I'm at the point at which I can afford one, and I have a relationship with the dealer. If I don't buy one now, I won't really have another chance, unless I want a hybrid or turbo. I'm not against those, but for me, not right now.

My guess is, I make a lot less than most that are buying GT3s here, but I'm able to do it.

Amen, same boat here.. congrats on putting yourself in the position to buy a dream car. I had a similar path over the last 5 years. Bought several cars and traded back building that relationship. I have ZERO regrets after taking delivery of this car. I get to enjoy this car now, built exactly how I wanted it. I’m also grateful to be in the financial position to be able to do that.

I was not on forums complaining about the price of these cars back in 2022 when I couldn’t afford one. Instead I bought the car I could afford at that time, enjoyed the hell out of it, and continued working hard to one day put myself in the position to be able to order a GT3.

With respect, a $2.00 discount is not a ton of money.

I'm fairly certain that was the joke....and.....it's all relative.

But the symbolism is awesome. Next time I get an MSRP allocation, I'm going insist that I get it $10 below MSRP so that I can tell myself I got it 'below MSRP' forever.

Damnit. Great idea and opportunity lost for me.
