Wont effect the 992, but EU just banned all internal combustion engines starting in 2035. Point being, all manuals are going away, so get em while you can.

Reality may yet bite, in the face of ongoing political uncertainty and energy chaos. The cosseted, sterile torpiditude of the last 20yrs that allowed unchecked woke and greens politics, came crashing down in Feb-22

Yup, it's official now.
A target of 100% zero emission vehicles in 2035 AND with intermediary phases between 2025 and 2030.

If you want a boring automatic sports car - buy a Lamborghini or a Ferrari.
if you find the PDK boring, then you are just not driving it right 😂

I had the PDK on my 991.2 gt3 and although it was not bring compared to regular cars, it was definitely not as enjoyable as the MT. Of course, just my opinion

There is some truth to this. When I had my TTS I found I got lazy sometimes and just left it in auto mode.

Can't do that with a manual.

that's because it is actually true for this version of the GT3. Not so previously but now, yes. 100%

Mercuriell, where I live, USA, oil companies have deliberately lied about the known damage their products cause to human health and the global climate for over 50 years. Its not "woke" nor "green politics" to understand proven science. Electric cars are not a perfect solution yet but they represent the best current way to reduce the damage being done by oil. They also reduce our reliance on and support of authoritarian regimes like Russia and Saudi Arabia that use their oil as a weapon against democracies. The political uncertainty and chaos due to man made global climate change are basically inevitable at this point, but we can reduce them if we act now. The scientific debate is essentially over. Oil producers are the ones that have been cossetted with the public paying hugely profitable companies with massive tax incentives. The actual turpitude happening is their continued corruption of public servants and "news" media to continue spreading lies that too many people have accepted and repeated without critical thought. Rant over...

Yet we have come a long way in cleaning up fossil fuel emissions rendering the suffocating fogs and smogs to the past. Meantime EV power is very largely dependent on fossil fuel for its generation and the production of rare earth metals, for EV motor manufacture, is rife with allegations of people exploitation and environmental degradation.

Seems unfair to me that the ICE which has been so instrumental in pushing back frontiers, and shaping our civilisation, is 'cancelled' in favour of infant technology spruiked as an 'environmental saviour'. YMMV.

That’s ridiculous. I enjoy shifting my Manual 992 GT3 as much as my Manual 991.2 GT3, if not more.

Agreed 100%

I just watched that video comparison of the 911 vs GT3 Touring vs GT3 RS and the Touring was "creeping" AWAY from the RS in 3rd and 4th gear rolling starts.
The Touring also stopped within one-tenth of a second of the RS from 100 - 0 and the Touring had steels while the RS had PCCB!
And the Touring was down by only 0.67 in the 0 - 150 drag race.

Impressive!

I will be at Porsche Barber this week. Should have the opportunity to drive a full stock GT3 with PDK with sofas and likely iron brakes.

I’m hoping to be able to compare PDK vs manual, but my car is like a completely different car than a stock GT3 at this point.
