@VegasGT3 how did you chip it out? Like using a chisel or a flat head, and would you mind detailing it, like did you start on the outside and work around or from the middle out?

thanks!

You can get it out peacefully in one piece, no need to smashing it out..

Just went right at it with a chisel and a rubber mallet. It’s pretty soft stuff just make sure to wear a mask and eye protection…don’t want to mess with that fiberglass. It about 3-4 inches think with an about a 1 inch gap between it and the actual catalyst material. It begins to fall apart the further you go. Hope that helps.

@VegasGT3 could you have just slid it out of the sleeve?

I don’t think so. We tried that but it’s pressed in there pretty good

My shop removed the whole OPF barrel as a single unit. he kept removing the surrounding material until he was able to pull it out.
The muffler was kept in place, only removed headers to remove OPF.

Also, do I have to remove the bumper or just the rear diffuser?

Just diffuser. Loosen headers. Makes taking a part the exhaust much easier.

Sorry, I don’t but thought I would mention that there is also a prescribed order for tightening the various fasteners (unless I’m confusing it without something else).
