Maybe I was thinking about valve covers (they have a specific order)

Any cover, valve covers, timing covers, water pumps, headers(exhaust manifolds),intake manifolds etc : the rule is simple. When you're removing the part release tension on the bolts from outside in and when you're installing the part torque from the middle out in a criss cross pattern. You can't go wrong when following these rules in any car...

This has probably been unearthed in other thread, so my apologies for any duplicate info. The US 3RS models do not have OPF material in the headers. This morning I saw GT3 and RS headers side by side, and RS has no OPF material (vacant). The headers are identical otherwise.

I had not heard that - thanks!

Does the RS share same center muffler with GT3?

Wonder how the factory RS headers compare in price to aftermarket ones.

Certainly more than a wide bladed screwdriver…

For as much as these cars cost, I am fine with paying the price for new headers and not having to put the chisel time in. Not worth the aggravation factor for me.

Ok, then you probably don’t want to bother with the installation of a new one either (so why not have the mechanic do the chiseling?). Sounds like only a few more minutes labor than swapping for new ones.

Of course you can and should do whatever you like - just spitballing here...

I'm not sure this is true. My dealer just received another customer car and replaced his exhaust with a Kline unit. The OEM header definitely had the OPF material in it.

I would be very surprised if this is true.

You can be surprised then. How many 3RSs have you seen taken apart in the US getting ready for goodies? I could post pics, but they are not mine to share.

What is the logic behind doing this for the 3RS and not the GT3?

Europe requires the OPFs so that wouldn't be possible.
