Is there any purpose to this honeycomb material post-cat? Is this a GPF filter, but unmonitored?

Per this link: https://www.onlyrevo.com/blog/gpf-ga...at-does-it-do/, what is removed is a GPF element. The photo looks like what was removed. Surprised you can't slide it out, vs breaking it open.

Interesting,I peaked under my 22 TS, and didnt see a similar design. I definitely see the CATs, but not similar layout as the NA motors, given the turbos are right there. I'd be more than happy to knock these out of my turbo S , if it has them.

Any idea where I should be looking for this OPF material in that design?

I'm not sure why you would want to destroy a (surely) very expensive part of the stock exhaust to make it louder. Want louder? Change the muffler....
And just how loud and obnoxious do you want it to be?
Maybe i'm just mad because i'm trying hard to make it more quiet so i can use it on track (sound restricted....because of super loud cars).

Starting at 12:15 in this video for the GT3. The TTS OPF housing should look almost identical. I'm sure you can't miss it once you take the bottom covers off.

Cost is a big factor in changing the muffler. Pretty expensive on these GT3s. 992 only has one muffler now instead of three (IIRC) on the 991.2. These OPFs were never originally intended to be there by the car enthusiasts. In other words, it is not the original intent of the designers but they were forced to do it by regulators.

Removing the OPF is the cheapest exhaust mod. It's 100% free as a DIY and restores the car to it's original intent. That's how I look at it anyway. Kinda like the clear side markers. My friend's 991.1 GT3 with center exhaust delete sounds so much better than my 992 with OPFs. Subjective -yes. But others that drive with us say the same thing. I'm going to pull my OPF material the next time I have my bumper off.

There is no CEL in US Cars, only in Europe because we don't have the sensor....yet....GT4/Spyder is the same thing you take out the OPF and no CEL (in this case the OPF comes alone in the over axle pipe).
