Congrats!
My S/T will be my first PTS Porsche. Clearly it seems i'm lucky to get PTS too. I'm just trying to gauge how/why this is the case and how many out of the 1963 S/T's will be PTS?
It seems odd that they charge so much money for PTS (100% pure profit!) yet it's apparently hard to get?
I got an email today from Porsche stating my S/T will be delayed. Was supposed to be produced in late March. It is PTS.
The reason was “capacity bottlenecks in production on the supplier side affecting supply of exterior carbon parts.”
Hopefully mine is still on track to be completed end of this month, ideally would have liked PTS. But with so few cars happy just have a car. Went for Black with Heritage Spec, really looking forward to this car after the reviews.
very nice! Are you going to sell your 992 Touring once your ST arrives?
All very special cars, but a number of similarities between 911 R, 992 Touring, and S/T.
I will be trading the Touring for the S/T, too similar to justify keeping both. I would prefer my cars to have completely different driving experiences or be from different generations. It will be awesome to compare the S/T and the R back to back

oh that’s too bad. Mine is scheduled to start week of 2/25. so far no emails or delays reported. but I have a very standard boring build

Makes sense to only keep cars with minimal overlap. I’ve got two 911’s, but since they’re 49 years apart the overlap is reduced.
Any concern that the S/T and R may be a little redundant? Would you possibly sell one of them?

Redundant or bookends to the rs touring theme? I like it!
My sense based on what I’ve read and heard from those who’ve driven them is the r and gt3t will be a lot more forgiving to dd than the s/t. Hopefully just hyperbole

No, the Touring has same stiff suspension as GT3. Both R and S/T have road tuned suspensions.

Not a suspension concern for dd, it’s the clutch being heavy, tricky and expensive.
I suspect it will be fine. All the good stuff is “too loud, has a goofy roof, tricky clutch, etc.”
