absolutely - but is it really so egregious to think as a kid that loved Porsches that they (911s in particular) would only get better and better, as they have been for 60 years? I envisioned that as I became an adult that I’d some day be able to afford luxury toys like these. Other than buying a house, it was my singular financial goal - and the house was just to have a garage for my Porsches. The fact that I get there and just as I do, they’re taking the special sauce off of the ingredients list, just sucks… nobody could have predicted this…

Gentian is an interesting color, I had 718 GT4 in this color. Under the showroom lights it’s a dramatic choice that looks great. Also looked nice in morning and evenings as sun going up or down. But in the daylight it was dull and I didn’t really like it. As such was an easy pass for S/T color choice

My money is Porsche adding a hybrid on the GT2RS and Turbo S. Maybe the GT3RS. All of theses are the 9@1 halo cars and all already lack a manual.

I definitely don’t think any of the regular 992.2 carrera models will be hybrid or lose a manual option. However, when the 994 comes around then all bets are off.
believe me when I say I hope you’re correct!

I had a long chat with an SA from Beverly Hills Porsche who said he just returned from a business trip/summit with Porsche corporate (not sure if PCNA or PAG), and he said the aforementioned: all hybrid except base Carrera and GT cars.

This is kinda off topic, but is also one of the reasons I put SO much time and effort, and stretched financially to get an S/T. I believe that this is Porsche’s Swan song for the ICE, only time will tell.

I don’t mean to sound vague, but change is coming soon.
Why WOULD Porsche telegraph anything beyond what they have, which suits their purposes perfectly?

You must be too young to remember late 1973. The 74 911 was Way worse than 73 911 (particularly in USA and took many years to recover- some would say 73 is still high water mark in several respects)…

San Marino looks fantastic IRL, Gentian not so much unfortunately.

The RS Spyder at Rennsport was San Marino.

To me Gentian is disappointing in real life. Midnight looks amazing IRL, as does San Marino but that is a more showy shade of blue.

Manual only in GT cars.

994: GT cars go high revving Turbo
Manual potentially goes away.

998: all electric

Not to fear grasshopper. NA MANUAL ICE is not going away… https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a4...le-production/

I saw and sat in this car when I went for my CXX consultation, it’s definitely Gentian. I think it’s just the lighting.
