You can always buy aftermarket pads.

Yes, North American market.

The SRS are taking up a lot of PTS space and since they were delayed for North America is a side effect.

Or older OEM pads (from 991) that didn't dust

The Old Stock of non “A”’ pads for the 991 are mostly gone. They have been superseded.

Also a weird side effect of using the 991 pads and some others is the thickness is greater and they make constant contact with the rotor and for some reason cause pad chunking, which could cause pad material loss and squealing.

*not all 991 pads but some.

Mine is a July build. Dealer advises should know in December/January if PTS will happen. Hopeful.
On the flip side, got an Emory 356 Speedster Special this week (4 years after signup) and that is definitely PTS.
Porsche is such a PTS tease. Ferrari will gouge you but PTS is near certainty. Porsche PTS used to be a relative bargain compared to ferrari but the delta has substantially narrowed. Wonder why Porsche can’t just sort it out and make it work for all that extra revenue for the same car, different hue. Make it so!

If you wait long enough, Porsche will put PTS colors out there on other models. Like Ruby Star (ish) and now Oak (ish) on the Panamera. We call that "Beverly Hills adjacent."

John whether tastes in specific cars or levels of fanaticism about audio, cars, coffee, etc (I never caught the cycling bug), we have been on a strange parallel hobby path in life. You are my hobby brother from the left coast. Like so many other things I have been truly insane for in life, my insanity for cars is waning as well. My Porsche enthusiast hobby has moved from an affliction nearly needing professional treatment to a “normal” person’s level of passion?? That being said I still occasionally like to hit RL to relive it all. The handles change but the banter and insanity stay the same. Love it!

This is what I’m worried about with PCCB pads for my incoming Spyder RS. I’m happy to buy previous gen PCCB pads IF they fit and if they are still being made.

I’m worried that socialist republic of Kalifornia has ruined PCCBs for driving enthusiasts in the long term.

haha, ymmv. For me, it’s more like it passes and flares up and passes again and then I might eventually move onto something else to obsess over. The car/porsche “hobby” took out my old hifi addiction. I’d say I’m less hobby addiction prone overall after laughing at myself enough seeing the pattern of it being “different this time” when it’s actually “exactly the same cycle every time”

Life is short. If you don’t do a lot of things that make you laugh HARD at your younger self as you get older, imo, you aren’t making enough mistakes and/or living enough. I’m sure I’d cringe to lookup some of my old posts on the 997 forum when I was full-blown addict and full-blown in denial!

Back to the s/t: this car would have me bribing any/every dealer in the country and my skin itching obsessively until I had one. And, I promise, it would be the LAST car I ever need after I spec’d it exactly how I wanted it. It would be my grave car that my daughters dealt with after I was gone………..right!!!!!!!!!

I think there were March builds, though the early builds that are probably largely PTS are going to take a lot longer to come in, so the april-june builds you'll probably see first Id imagine.

This sounds like a terminal disease.

I know of a PTS car confirmed "entry to body shop 19 Jan '24" and "Jan 26 '24 build completion date" ... confirmed via the Porsche Sales and Vehicle Management System ...
