911ST

imagine if the band you loved going to see as a teenager just becomes an ocean of boomer Karen’s 1000 feet long from the stage and you show up and your watching the ants perform on stage 1,500 feet away while the Karen’s just overpay for these tickets just to instagram the experience for clout to their followers who don’t care and they dgaf about the band….yeah that’s Porsche right now
Seems like you let others influence whether or not you can enjoy something for yourself.

For the record pal, I think the new 911 ST is epic. But I dd Porsche and track Porsches and I’m not getting one.
the Doug demuro and Matt Farah’s and Chris harris’s ain’t getting one either.
So it’s just bubble wrapping clout chasers that are going to be getting them.
what part of that isn’t insanely lame? Explain that to me

And no one is entitled to tell another person how to use their own car.
Lame is thinking you are exempt from that sense of entitlement.

Isn't it interesting how many times others (not you) in this thread have said that 1,963 cars is so many cars and isn't limited at all yet even the big d*cks can't get one? Interesting

To me...seems very similar sounding to what we see today.....crazy how in this thread they talk about a few things:
1) Auctions going wild back then out of nowhere (now we have car+bids and bat, also out of pretty much nowhere)
2) Dealers becoming most the buyers (seems highly relevant)
3) Gas prices going up quickly (seems to be semi-happening)
4) Joe Blows hopping in the "collector car" market (very much happening)
Life is exciting isn't it! YOU NEVER KNOW WHERE THIS IS GOING.

a 250 gto was a road legal racecar that has a huge racing history….it is not possible to build this anymore, so I would say yes they do build these still but they’re not road legal so collectors don’t want them
Porsche is building the CGT successor so not sure your comment makes any sense
never said Porsche makes shtty cars
you are living a delusion if you think these ST WON’T be bubble wrapped and thrown in collections

CGT was a brave move. A 10 cylinder supercar developed at a time when few supercars existed. The Mission X is just another EV in a crowded supercar market that nobody is talking about. Very different cars.
My bad, I extrapolated ****ty from garbage as in "Porsche is becoming lamer and less cool by the second with all this collectible garbage meant for non-enthusiasts"
You are living a delusion if you think these STs won't be bought by people who will drive them. The reality is there will be both, but you seem to have a penchant for drama, polarity and labels.
Anyway, as someone who was here in 06 with two 993s and a 7GT3 that I added in 07, your recollection of history is skewed at best and all I hear is a lot of bitching because things are not as you wish they were.
Can we get back on topic now?

But back on the S/T. Damn, it is an incredible effort and I want one badly. It seems to have the potential to be far more special than the R, IMO (time will tell of course, but I'm still waiting for AP to miss). It starts with a better, newer base product in the 992 GT3T + 3RS engine / body panels. They went further on the weight savings vs the R. They went further on the distinguishing driving features with the gearing and the RWS delete and the rear spoiler deployment only above 80mph. And if you order new its far more customizable. Looks mean AF in black/black/silver. Huge want. If I can get one, it will either X-blue or black, black interior, silver wheels, and I will mile it up. I'm incredibly impressed with the 992 GT3T and the GT4RS and expect this to be far better than both.

So take it Godsmack, Disturbed, and Slipknot aren't really y'alls jams? I mean the lead singer of Disturbed has the 2nd highest octave range ever recorded (Mariah Carrie is #1) and he did Sound of Silence even better than Simom and Garfunkel could've ever dreamed.
I will say though.... I never understood Rush until a Client of mine nearly a decade ago explained not only their songs, but the hidden meanings in their album art. They truly were musical savants in an Era where most lyrical imagination was linked back to PCP, LSD, or Cocaine.
For the record Mudvayne or Stone Sour really will tickle your fancy. Little Blue October if needing more mellow.

We like what we like when it comes to music … and cars. Discussing it is often a lot of talking often without a lot of understanding on the receiving side.
But we discuss anyway, because people like to discuss. You guys realize RL is an extension of cars and coffee, right?

I don't understand why people think the ST will be a raw experience?
It's just a leaned up gt3t.... no where close to being a "racecar" level machine. A boosted Miata would provide a far more exhilarating experience and yet the ST/ Porsche ppl will say creme de la creme of the 992 NA... no even. Lipstick on a pig is all it is, or this case.... stickers on a Porsche piggybank with 100% recycled parts. Not a lick of R&D money into it and what people fail to understand is this.... "limited production" really means.... "We really didn't invest alot of money into making this car and since we have some suckers out here that think they know what a great drivers car is, we're just gonna throw a serial count on it and quadruple our ROI on the model its comparable too".
I really hate to say this, but the 992 is NOT a raw machine. Frankly neither is the 4RS as many claim it is, it's sloppy.
I would gladly pay anyone who wants a raw drivers experience to just hop in an ST, GT3, GT3RS.... idk what it is, then hop into a 5th Gen ACR. You'll nut yourself or **** your pants, there's no in between. It's THE MOST STREET LEGAL PRODUCTION RACECAR available to buy (second hand now of course) just shy of the 992-3RS. The difference is the Viper will 100% beat the **** out of you and you'll be feeling like you just left an S&M convention ready for another all access pass.
There were less than a 1000 5th Gen ACR Vipers ever produces over the course of 2013-2017..... guess it's more special than an ST.
