Black or cognac interior? If I get an allocation, I'll go black.

How do you think the laptimes of the S/T (Nürburgring Nordschleife and short track like Hockenheim) compare with the GT3 Winged and Touring (and even Manual and PDK to get more complicated)? I remember with the 911R, it held its own very well against its contemporary 991.1 GT3, due to its high power to weight ratio (despite having a manual and the suspension being less track tuned).

Here's the 911R (place #49 and GT3 at #53) compared against others:

I think black interior works, but personally opt for green stitching or red or even blue with colour matching belts and matching exterior stickers.

Same. I'd love a near zero options ST and the black launch car looks gorgeous.

That is a bold prediction. I’m pretty sure the RS is gonna be faster on every track…

I’d say the S/T might be faster than a manual Touring on both though (maybe a pdk Touring too)

On a short course, the shorter gearing and 200lb advantage will have the ST pulling out of corners much harder than the RS. The RS's aero and PDK won't be an advantage.
On a long course, despite PDK and RAS, the 200-300lb and slight HP advantage of the ST wins over the GT3 but not the RS.

The results you pointed to support my musings.

I think you may be forgetting that the RS has the shortened PDK close-ratio 7-speed gearing (lower than the GT3's PDK), so each of its gears is lower than the manual ratios in the S/T. Also, the RS's suspension (also with its wider track and wider wheels/tires) is going to be a huge advantage on every track. I am not sure yet how much of a disadvantage (if any) the lack of Rear Axle Steering is on track for the S/T. I think even Hockenheim is fast enough for the aero to be a benefit to the RS (both in cornering and braking).

I'm pretty sure Porsche won't run laptimes for the S/T, but some magazines (like Sport Auto) should run some with Cup2 R tires.

You're right about both PDK and suspension. I guess we'll have to see. I do hope Sport Auto does it.

Thats my backup build (black/black/green stitching and seat belts) if I cannot get PTS for some reason. It’ll look sick.

I was at Sports Car together Day at Indy last year, Literally half the guys I saw was bigger than him.

'Fitting in' means very differently when in context.

You probably can be 'fitting' into your wife/gf's thong. Would you consider that as 'fitting in'?

Can Porsche do a car like the Alpine? Not an exact carbon copy, but absolutely they can along that line, but not enough pimple will buy it, the 'purists' will be like where is my leather door card? Where is my cupholder? Where is the passenger seat so I can take my 250lb friend for a joy ride.

Look no farther than those that say I want to skip the front axle lift and the really wanted to skip the nav screen to save 10lbs to be 'pure', when the seat next to their's weight 50lbs...........Not to mention the other 120lbs worth of stuff inside the car with padding insulation door trims console trims etc.

When you spill something, do you grab the paper towel to drop the first piece down to the main area first? where it can soak up the most spill? Or do you go dabbing around the side and clean up the droplets while leaving the main spill untouched? That's what the 'purists' are doing, they are only concerned about the side drips, not the main spill.

I really like the black launch color as well. My RS incoming has Lizard threads & belts etc I missed out on the tribute. I just built my own via CXX - viper green wheels & decals etc / Arriving Oct10th. Glad we can get the topic back on track. Colors & positive vibes is refreshing

Funny part about the Elise.... its the base car thats built upon to build the socalled hypercar known as the Hennessey F5. Likely due to starting package size and weight.
