Porsche's Philip Mauney is in town.
Just a guess that the ST might be there.

In the Pistonheads video, AP mentioned running out of revs in 6th gear at 186mph. I did the math and it looks close to 199 mph at redline to me (if engine is making enough power there) without Vmax electronic limiting. Pretty sure stock GT3 gearing is at least 24 mph per 1,000 rpm and 8% less gives just over 22 mph per 1,000 rpm.
At 186 mph, the engine will be turning 8,455 rpm which is pretty close to peak power. Just splitting hairs - would love the lower gears![thumbup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/thumbup.gif)

some like stick
some like no wing
some like puke blue
some like sh$t brown
some even prefer LWFW, the dumbest thing on street cars... heavy flywheel is where its at
some say it's lighter, I think ppl need to lose some wt.. and do some cardio
I just want he "ST" I buy label I am vain....
I do need to learn how to drive stick shift first however.

Very interesting car. I’m much more interested in a Spyder RS, but cheers to everyone on RL
who lands one of these ST beauties!
I must also mention that although I love AP, I wonder if he was a lawyer in another life, the way he can bend the truth so smoothly.
I distinctly remember the 991.1 GT videos with AP, where he defended the 15 kilo weight of RWS, because RWS effectively shrunk the long 991 wheelbase, and made the car more stable and more agile simultaneously.
I distinctly remember the catchpole vid with AP, where AP emphasized that the harmonics of the 991.2 engine were such that if customers tried to attach a LWFW to their GT cars that it would destroy the engine!
somehow both of these things no longer apply to the ST…..?

Probably at least October at the earliest, and that would necessitate somewhere that wouldn’t require winter tires; it will likely be primarily a road driving event given the car is supposed to be oriented toward that discipline. The launch event may not even be planned yet. The journalists with the best access to PAG - NOT necessarily PCNA - will get invited to the first / best wave of that event, and most of those are the type that will also have an opportunity to drive the car before the official event. E.g., I have a friend who is a German *industry* journalist - think the likes of Kacher or Kable - who drove the 992 GT3 with AP months before the “official” press launch. Obviously, the catch is that that was completely off the record and he couldn’t write about it.
And don’t forget that the 991.2 and beyond engine was incompatible with a lightweight flywheel … and here we are!
It is conceivable that the facelift GT3 could feature (1) the shorter gearbox, (2) the lightweight flywheel, (3) some version of the GT3 RS steering wheel *****, and (4) *maybe* a little more power but (5) retain RWS.
