Why all the hate for the ST? Can’t we all just get along? 🫣
992.2 touring will have 95%. Of these features (except SMF… which is huge… and maybe less CF panels and no bubble roof and no numbered dash… if this does not appeal to you, pump brakes for now and wait till next green light)
I like it but I’m not special enough in Porsche’s eyes to be granted one.
We all know it’s a hell of a car… congrats to all future owners.
The amount of energy used by certain folks in this thread to justify this car as overhyped/overpriced is interesting to say the least. Porsche could sell 10,000 of these at MSRP, but since there are "only" 1,963 they will sell in the secondary market for much more. If you're not able to get one at MSRP and aren't a buyer at market price then someone else is. Plenty of different trim levels to choose from.
If you can't get an S/T for a price that makes sense for you, hopefully you can get a .2 Touring with some of the cool sh*t that was developed for this car. We should be collectively celebrating what this car should, and likely will bring to the table for the more attainable, upcoming GT products.
How to place a value on one's subjective perspective?! A few of you know me and my cars and how I drive them. Spec'd m,y R without radio or Air Conditioning and made it as light as possible including an AKRA exhaust which saves 30 lbs (and makes a BIG difference) - my own tweaks to the alignment (toe and camber) were transformational - in fact a lot of others with Rs drove mine and were like WTF - more sharp and direct and tossable -- and those that had Tourings were always blown away (what a difference some lightweight unsprung mass makes). I collected my R in Germany and hit the Ring right away as Ive done with all my cars since my CGT waaaay back and the R was more fun sliding around that almost anything (just below my CGT and just above my GT4 first gen). The 3 and 2 RS and my 918 were far below ....
I could not be more psyched about the ST - I know I will love the lack of rear steer with my set up and have a blast. Take some more weight out with an AKRA or inconel exhaust and off we go. My 997 4.0 was a 180 sticker; my R not much more - BUT I see the ST as a bargain because I want and like and will drive the **** outta it. And it will scratch the itch that my other new 911s etc don't. Its subjective....
Honestly, I’m surprised it was not priced higher around 350k as everyone will sell. It priced cheaper than the Speedster MSRP if I recall was 287k back in 2018, and the ST will be a cool classic hands down with a great manual tranny. If I could pull a rabbit out of a hat I’d pay MSRP hands down and my build is ready to go😳
Does anyone know exactly what's changed between a manual GT3 and ST in regards to gearing? I know the 8% figure is quoted but I haven't had a chance to watch all the videos yet to figure exactly how they got there. Wondering if its a simple final drive change that might be available for regular 992/991.2 GT3 manuals.

Hold your horses , hearing how it revs (to avoid stalling due the very light flywheel )
i suspect that this car,
if you dont have a lonely b road
close to you , it would be practically useless
though i would use it,
if any allocation,
as a very fun
and not so fast,
on local tracks
You can make a case for either. I'm not sure it's worth selling one for the other if that's your dilemma. If you can pick up a 991.2 or 992 touring to pair with your SC or an SC to pair with your 3RS you are probably getting 93-99% of the fun from owning all of them either way.
It's all about experience with these. I feel the above describes why I keep my a
Turbo S for the comfort and speed factor, my modified Gen 5 Viper ACR for the raw beat me up manual, and the 4RS for now is a slight blend of the 2 just not really as much of that wow factor when driving. The 3rs when it gets in Q1 24 it may change my mind overall on what experience I need to feel from my Porsches to keep the warm and fuzzy feeling.
The SC frankly is just so good that I hope anyone that has one just drives it into the ground before selling for something like the ST.
With the rate things are going the future is bleek on true drivers cars, but fingers stay crossed.

I think it won’t be the most fun car ever in heavy traffic, but not so bad.
The 997RS had a light single-mass flywheel and a Really heavy clutch. At least the clutch will be light with the S/T. Just a little noisy with SMF and you have to keep revs slightly higher pulling away. I think it’ll be quite civilized and not a problem.
