Hi, I had the same concerns, but watch the video I linked, which was made by a Rennlister some time ago. You can see he moves passenger seat to forwardmost position, then slides into the rear easily. It’s unconventional but seems like it works.

@shack993 Have you taken delivery of the Elfermotors kit yet, any thoughts/feedback? Does the kit require welding or installing hard points to install seatbelts and seats, or drilling/tapping existing hard points to install?

Okay and a couple hours later I have located and purchased a CPO 991 GT3 Touring with 18 way seats. Jet black on black interior. Should be relatively easy to find used rear black seats for this. No deviated stitching which helps.

I am learning this the hard way, lots of things I still have to learn about becoming a Porsche owner, turns out just knowing a lot about the cars is not enough . Don't want to derail the conversation though. Maybe putting my name down and being willing to wait might cut it, expect another backseat retrofit project thread in 5-7 years

I went through the list and ordered all the OEM parts for this. It was about $10k for them. There are a ton of different leather choices so you have to get the right ones. I wanted black leather and not leatherette.

Now I need the Elfermotors kit. I've emailed them in English with no reply, so I'm asking my brother who lives in Switzerland to call them and ask them in German about the kit.

My brother helped me make contact with Eldermotors and we have a 991 kit coming shortly. I'll let you know how it goes.

Hey everyone I ordered the kit but they are also telling me that it is stuck in customs right now. Anyone know anything about this? Is Germany difficult to export from?

@shack993 did you end up receiving your kit from Elfermotors?

Sounds odd to me.

Well worst case it doesn't get through customs and I just make the kit myself. I'm a mechanical engineer and can just design some oversized brackets, etc and have my local shop mill it for me.

But I'd much rather get their kit if it is already designed and implemented. Saves me a lot of effort. Hell it's worth it to fly to Germany. Actually I'll be there in September anyway. Score!

Yes. I got my kit. Wildly underimpressed for 2500 euros. WIll post pictures soon.

My kit got stuck in custom via UPS. I received no notice that duties were due and it got sent back to Elfermotors. Added 2 months to process.

Pricey for sure, but worth it to me. Thanks for posting! I'm mostly concerned with safety and these look solid and well designed. I'll keep pestering them about the customs thing.

These photos were supplied by Elfer Motors. Marked up by me.

"Remove the brackets on the wheel arches on the right and left (see photo)."
You remove the black bracket below. And you replace it with the larger of the two brackets from the Elfermotors kit. The Elfermotor bracket holds both the seat and the seatbelt.

"Fasten the center section with the supplied nuts and drill 4 x holes accordingly."
You have to drill 4 holes into the tub and inserts 4 nuts into the holes. These act as anchor points for the 3rd (smaller) bracket that is the mounting point for the center of the rear seats. The top seat belt anchors are already in the 992 (according to Elfer Motors) and you can screw in the seat belt pivot points.

I have sent a follow up email to Elfermotos asking. for drill bit and hardware sizes.

Simple right? What can go wrong?
