My front windshield cracked in less than 1500 miles (992 GT3). Talking with PCNA now hoping for results soon.

Windshield on the 991.2 RS cracked by itself last month while in my climate- and humidity-controlled storage.

It happens that I am also encountering my 3rd, yes THIRD PADM engine mount failure.

Will have to say adios to a whole bunch of $$$ from this stupidity. The 991 is just that much more fragile than the 997 generation...

Happened during PDI. Wiper arm without blade attached yet snapped back at windshield.

I finally have an appointment to get my windscreen installed. It's been 3 months. The crack is now 75% the way across.

^^^^^^ @ShakeNBake Do you know if it will be any different/less prone to cracking than what you had before?

You know Porsche will make a running change to glass, vs repairing them at the dealers, at some point. Wonder if it's happened already... or maybe they can't get new glass supplied in time for MY 22???
My car was an August build. Happy to report glass arrived a week after ordering it, installed w/o incident... so far so good.

Anyone know if a regular 992 piece will fit? In case mine craks and the regular glass fits, that is what I want installed. This is ridiculous.

Amazing, was reading the title of the thread and didn't cross my mind that i would be posting here so early...

Another victim. Front windshield, very hot day yesterday, around 30C ambient temperature and the car had been sitting in the sun pretty much all day long.
I finish work, open the front boot to change my clothes and suddenly i hear a strange sound from the car. Lift my head and i spot a crack, spreading into three right in the middle top of the windscreen.
Like previously stated you can feel the cracks with your fingers.

At the video you can hear the noise from the minute the window cracks and you can also see a small movement from the POV of the camera, that lowers a bit.
Amazing. Car parked doing nothing.

In my head it looks like there might be tension somewhere rather than it being a temperature affected phenomenon.

Is it that your crack is very big in size or Is there somewhere a guide that you shouldn't drive on track with a crack on the windscreen?
I am asking, as based on my experience in the past, i have driven whole seasons with cracked (not huge cracks from side to side) without any kind of problem.

With continuing Light weight glass failures, I will be requesting "Light Weight Glass delete" on my GT3 order.

If this is not possible and I have these same failures, I will insist on replacing with regular 992 glass.

Don't waste your time. Neither of these will be allowed. There are 1,000s of new GT3s with good windshields. Perspective.
