New Z06 and 992 GT3 on the NRing

kinda disagree. I spend alot of weekends on track around the country, and I have been amazed how many 991.2 GT3 RS show up for track days. In fact most DEs are now populated by a large amount of Porsches. When I was tracking my 991.1 RS (when it first arrived) there were much less of those at the Track in comparison vs when I was tracking my 991.2 RS. There are starting to be more 992 GT3s at events, i have had mine for a year now so initially it was slim pickings besides mine. So this idea that only a tiny fraction of GT cars hit the track is not true
When the 991RS/gt3 prices dipped 3 years ago pre this wild upswing, you absolutely saw more of them being used as track cars, but they also made thousands more 991's than the previous 997 and 996 gen, and with the 991's less collectable, they became the value quick/solid track car. Back when the 991 RS was brand new, they were 300k with adm etc etc and very VERY few touched a track.

You're not wrong. My .1 on street tires is already in the mid-bottom percentile in pace in the "most advanced" group at COTA, I might have to relegate myself down a run group or just switch to slicks to keep up with the new RSes that will be sure to flood the group. Not so much an issue on the smaller tracks, but it will definitely be a thing at the bigger tracks that attract the bigger guns.

Sucks, otherwise 991.2 would be a good step up into a track car from 991GT3/718 GT4.

Not looking good to get an allocation for a Porsche GT car these days, and certainly not willing to pay ADM, so I have my eyes on the Z07 (half the price of a 992 GT3 RS) and will follow this thread.

Same as 992 GT3. There are wait lists going out 3 years+ at MSRP dealers, and the other dealers are adding anywhere from $50K to $90K ADM.
A LOT of the volume Corvette dealers have stopped taking deposits as the wait lists are multiple years out.

I think I'll hold on to my 991 GT3 and 981 GT4 and only buy something else for the track if the economy tanks into next year. I have a feeling that a lot of people are going to look back in a year or so and feel dumb that they paid big ADMs.

It might actually be harder to get a C8 Z06 (with the Z07 pkg) than a 992 GT3 RS.
Yes, Chevy will make more Z06's than Porsche will make 992 GT3 RS's, but there are more (much more) potential Corvette buyers than there are GT3 RS buyers. And, yes, the price delta (even with ADM) plays a large part in that demand.

Name another car with a starting MSRP of ~125k, and optioned out nicely at around 150k, that will get you similar performance and usability (trunk, Targa roof, cushy compliant everyday ride), with comparable insurance rates (something often overlooked when buying sports cars).
And this is before we get to the whole "mid engine, flat plane crank V8 revving to 8600 redline" meme.

most buyers just want something to flex in and show their neighbor. Performance and usability are secondary

I’m thinking more along the used market for 911 GT3/Turbo/GTS, Aston’s, Gallardos, etc. assuming someone can get a Z06 at MSRP. If ADM of $50k + well… even more options.

Nothing on the market currently, short of hypercars, flexes like this new C8 Corvette Z06 among hoi polloi who don't really obsess over cars like we do.
