So, wait a minute, is the 992 Touring with MT actually louder than the 991.2 Touring? I mean, how did manual 991.2 GT3s get sold in California, given this regulation? The 992 Touring does not sound louder to me compared to the 991.2 Touring, but perhaps it is? Based on the YouTube video, I'd say the 992 Touring sounds a little more muffled than the 991.2 Touring (due to the particulate filter, I would imagine). Not surprisingly, it sounds very similar to the 991.3 Speedster. Which begets the question: How was the Speedster sold in CA? Is that, too, quieter than the 992 Touring? It has pretty much the same engine. Is the exhaust that much different?!

Cant they just add the exhaust particulate filter to manual models? This is no different from european spec manual cars, since they all come out of the same factories anyway.
that’s what likely they’re going to do for 2023 MY - they can’t afford to loose CA manuals business, it’s big !

Apparently Porsche A.G. respects legitimate regulation, and will not sell the GT3 Manual through California dealers, or allow out of state dealers to sell to California residents.

considering the test procedures call for the use of wide open throttle, I’m guessing it’s both.

this is what i dont understand either. its the same 4.0 from the previous gen... and we have been told there are more restrictions on it. how did the 991.2 pass?

maybe its down to the 992 gt3 getting a new exhaust system thats 20 pounds lighter than the previous car ?

Well if build is in and have an assigned commission number then maybe it’s not allowed. The rest would be up to your SA I would think. Either way, looks like the car won’t be able to be registered so this might not be helpful.

Still, if anyone is giving up their allocation because they are dead set on manual, please let me know. ADM or not.

what happens to orders already in lock period that are in wacky colors? seems like the dealers may get stuck with some cars now, what a mess. I know they can sell them, in time, but some custom orders will be slower to find a home for. Not everyone that has money has good taste. (I don't have either :-)

Can all the in lock cars be fully reset?

Next up, California bans LWB seats, because residents are too fat to fit in 'em.

Ban fat-shaming bucket seats!

So glad I sold my house in San Diego years ago. Never going back. It’s only gotten worse.

Net, if your allocation is August, or later, you should be able to order a man tran.

They way I read this is “The MT 992 GT3 passes according the latest SAE standard. But CA bureaucracy hasn’t gotten around to recognizing the new standard.”

Did I miss something?
