Yes, but then it would have to be subject to a whole new round of emissions testing, no doubt. Better for CA to just align their standards with Feds as they planned

could program the ECU to rev limit at 4500 RPMs then everyone could just buy an aftermarket tune like many of us will regardless

Porsche planners have to project sales of manuals vs. pdk in each market, place advance orders with suppliers, amortize the cost of model specific features over the model lifetime. Even if they sell every one, where are the extra unaccounted PDK transmissions coming from? What about the different limited slip differentials between the auto and stick?

California consumers haven’t been shafted because the law wasn’t changed to suit ~300 Porsche customers.

Porsche obviously just decided the potential headache was manageable.

Don’t forget, the manual in the GT3T was a ‘gift’ to enthusiasts in response to 991R being unobtainable by mere mortals.

NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED!

No just the 300 consumers. Embrace the suck at the hands of the gov't.

It appears, they had too much initial demand for the MT. So this actually helps them correct any planning problems they had.

you appear to have never interacted with a regulatory agency. There’s no way to get a fix qualified and approved before the end of the year build slots are all locked.

and, no, I’m not buying a pdk at these prices. For an automatic, there’s a lot more competition for a touring car.

Actually quite the opposite is happening. People are fleeing that sh*thole-managed state in droves...I applaud such moves. You're clearly misunderstanding the stated point.

You clearly haven’t read up on the issue. Porsche isn’t fixing anything. The MT passes the updated standard. As soon as CA updates their regs to the new standard, the MT will be allowed.

California couldn't update its own weather forecast if someone asked. It'll be a long while before the manuals arrive there.

Unfortunately, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Death of the ICE by a thousand cuts, and CA will be first. Either tolerate it and justify living there for the weather, job market, beautiful women, food etc or relocate. Vote with your $$ guys, that's all you can do.

All I ask is that if you do move to my state, please, please, please, give our way of doing things a chance and don't be in a rush to create a new CA 2.0
Also, think twice about coming here, our winters SUCK!

PS
100% Gavin will have a manual...

More likely the other way around.

The Fed aligning their standards with CARB, as has always been the case.

[QUOTE=motorwerksgroup;17496860I'd be willing to bet a liberal initiated the very policy preventing the manual GT3 from being sold there.[/QUOTE]

Plenty of manual GT3s have been and are being sold in California.

They’re just the ‘stodgy old conservative’ 991.2s that don’t exceed the noise limits, unlike the new ‘neoliberal’ 992s!
