Default Price & Option Info Using the UK and German Configurators

FWIW, this might be helpful to prospective GT3 buyers and some on this thread might be able to take this further. I went on the UK and GER configurators to see what options and colors are available. I got the lead on the UK site from someone here (thanks!) and Googled the GER site. Both are essentially the same re: option availability. Clearly some options are EU-only and perhaps we'll see additional options later in the year (e.g., there is only one wheel but it's offered in different colors and rim trims).

The UK site does not have prices. The German site has prices but they include the 19% Value Added Tax. So. with some great GT help (Google Translate) plus being able to recognize options using the "i" button for pics, I built a reasonable spec GT3 for 193.882 Euro incl. VAT. To get a ratio of U.S. vs. German costs, I looked at the ratio between Turbo S base prices. Interestingly, the cost in Euro vs. US$ was only 7.2% higher even with the 19% VAT meaning that we're paying proportionally more here in the U.S. but given shipping, certifications, dealer costs, perhaps there are reasons for that. If I simply reduce the price of the German GT3, the price would be unrealistically low.

I spec'd the car with a manual trans, maybe Agate Gray because my previous 911s and a Boxster (2004 Sp. Ed. S - loved it) have been some shade of silver, blk int w/GT silver stitching, painted rims (satin gray - maybe satin black), CF buckets, 90L fuel tank, PCCBs w/black calipers, front axle lift, LED blk dynamic lights, clear taillights, park assist, homelink, storage pkg, the cheap courtesy lights (why not), painted key+pouch, storage compartment in Race-Tex with crest and Bose.

Using the 7.2% factor, this 193,882 Euro car (off a base of 167,518 Euro) would be $180,860.07 using my humble assumptions. My calculation of the base using the 7.2% factor would be $156,267.15. vs. the $143,600 base on my '18 gen 2 GT3.

Will I buy a GT3? Not now. ADMs are crazy, my SA here in VA says there will be more options later. Bought my last three 911s incl. '10 Turbo, '15 Turbo S and '18 991.2 GT3 from Circle Porsche at MSRP which claims they have 8 builds. Disappointed to see talk of $40K ADMs. I'm in VA now and was going to talk to Circle about an ATL PEC delivery. The GM were aware of my interest and assured me of a slot, but with the $40K ADMs, we’ve not spoken. Circle has always been motorsports- and GT car-oriented and I shopped there instead of a dealership 25 miles south and 2 miles from my home, I hope that philosophy isn’t changing.

My wife and I are in VA now in an urban area. I'm going back to a Turbo S so I can be driving my 911 a lot more often for routine errands (with ample parking). Also, it’s a car we can take to visit our families in upstate NY using frost-heaved, often patched I-81 through Central PA.

I watched Mark Donahue racing in 917 CanAm cars at Watkins Glen and Porsches in sports car categories when I was volunteering there in tech inspection and race safety. I love Porsche motorsports so getting out of a GT3 is not easy, but I am excited about the 992 Turbo S and reports that there is more GT in its DNA than before.

I have two dealerships that said I will get the car at MSRP. One verbally and the other in writing. It's just a question of timing of my allocations. I get the feeling that even though I was number 1 on a list at one dealership, that I am gong to be pushed down until the ADMs go away. I am starting to think my car will be a next year purchase. I hope not.

My 991.2 GT3 was CWM...yep you are totally correct. Have to deal with weird interior specs, etc.

How has it been w/o a 911? Do you miss driving one? I've found if I don't drive my 911 for 5-6 days, I need to get back in it. I've been seeing a few 992s around, they are quite eye-catching. I saw a white one (C2S or C4S), probably carrara white metallic, that looked awesome. IMO looks just as good as 992 turbo. Then I saw a 992 Targa 4S the other day and my jaw dropped...gorgeous beauty.

My SA offered to get me a GT4 after I cancelled the order, but I decided to take a GT3 slot at MSRP instead.

My understanding because of CA emission inspections, the 992GT3 will not get to a CA dealer until December or early next year. Also, some dealers are taking their allocations, specing them, putting them on the dealer floor and letting interested buyers bid on them. I can't think of anything more insulting to long time customers than to be told that you're no different than a guy walking in off the street with a bag of money.

the issue is that there are way more long time loyal customers then there are allocations

Most of the long time loyal customers get allocations.

Thanks for asking. I rarely use the car in the winter in NYC anyway. That’s why I thought the pre-trade thing was OK. I was saving $600 per month on parking. I also got 7.5% off on the 992. I can’t wait to see if they honor the purchase agreement on the GT3 which clearly spells out MSRP and 3rd on the list.
