I’m #3 on my dealers list after having a pre-trade and 992S delivery “ misunderstanding “. I wonder if it’s possible to find out what the “ actual” dealers allocation # is??

Ask them. They should be upfront with you.

Ha! I’m in at msrp. After my most recent experience, I’m wondering if my #3 slot becomes #4 quickly if someone is willing to pay more....

I supposely got an "allocation". After seeing what is going on in this thread with regards to ADM, I'm resigned to that fact that I'm going to keep getting bumped and I'm got going to get a car. Perpetual #4 probably. Yah us!

Make sure, during casual conversations, when you say "I'm #3 on the allocation list with my dealership " that you use air quotes with your fingers. It helps people to better understand.

Yeah, I'm gonna request my deposit back. Not playing this game. I think a new R8 will fill the gap nicely until the hype dies down.

I would and don’t blame them. Blame the idiots and call them names for actually paying the ADM because “it’s their money” and they are paying the premiums. BTW you love PNH and they do the EXACT same thing just with “delivery mile” vehicles that they are now selling at “market value”.
Worst year maybe for sales numbers, but there was just an article about how dealership profits are up because fewer discounts were given on cars.

If no one paid the stupid mark ups no dealership would be able to get away with it. Would be so nice if some folks didn't feel the need to have it now and pay, let the dealers sit with these allocations and cars for a little bit and not pay a mark up would be awesome to see, but it will never happen as there is always someone willing to pay.

The list means absolutely nothing. Unless you have something in writing that says MSRP and even that doesn't matter. The list is a charade.

Sharing parts of an email from my SA where I bought my first two Porsches. I am on three dealer's list. This one was my backup as I moved to NOLA. This dealership has been very upfront and transparent with me. For context, I asked where I stood in the allocation process as I had placed a deposit down 22 months ago. His response was this morning.

"I believe we got the info on how many cars we will be getting in the next allocation period. No actual allocations yet. Porsche has also created 2 models. So we need to know if the client wants a “regular” or a “touring” model. Once we have the actual production slot we will review and determine who gets one of the allocations Porsche has given us for that production period. This will be based on whether client is a previous client or not, how many cars bought from us, possible trade cars, and how much of an advocate for the store the client is. We have to do it this way, since we know we won’t get enough cars to satisfy every client on our list. We have about 70 people on that list.

Our dealer principal decided not to take deposits, but have an “interested” list, since a deposit creates too much of an expectation. Once we have an allocation/order for a client, we take a 10% deposit. So to answer your question, I can’t say where you are in the que for a production slot yet. I do know it won’t be in our first batch (July-October production slots). Would you be interested in a touring or a regular model? Knowing that, will help me working on an allocation for you."

So, are you getting the deposit back you place almost 2 years ago? At least the SA was transparent?

This sounds familiar. I specced an aerokit equipped 992S and traded my GT350, only to be notified (after the trade and before my spec. lock) they were placing aerokits on hold.

Of course. I have deposits down at three dealerships. 1k, 1k and 5k. I will get two of them back. Just playing my cards a different way since I moved and screwed up some long term relationships.

and I know this is a GT3 board here but go out here and look at the 911 prices- including a 992 TTS which has a MARKUP from MSRP and is used. Gimmie a break. The regular 992s with miles on them have very limited amount off MSRP. I very nearly fell off my chair.
